You know something like 30% of people don't process asparagus in that way, so look all flummoxed when you talk about asparagus wee.

I just got a very nice surprise at work. I'm dealing with files where kids have got in trouble at school and one particular kid decided he wanted to print off pictures of naked women during an IT lesson. The evidence was in the file. :D

I am shocked at you guys...there are nude pictures of Lovren and his team mates out there....and you didn't tell me!! Took me ages to find and be suitably shocked (that there weren't more frontal views).

As far as vegetables go, I'd say it's one of the more interesting ones. It's nice with butter and lots of seasoning.

Yes, lovely but makes your wee smell (for 70% of us). Great as Joe described, chargrilled, sautéed, in a risotto, in a salad....

Oooh chargilled, definitely chargrilled. Butter, sea salt, black pepper. Yes.

And like all green vegetables, good for you, but doesn't make it obvious by being boring.

    Sudanese Woman
Came on here to tell everyone about the Sudanese woman who was sentenced to death, by 100 lashes and hanging, for marrying and converting outside her religion, and she had a baby whilst in jail and had one of her ankles shackled. Well, she has been freed, and it looks like due to the power of petition signing. There were several. One Change petition carried nearly a million signatures. That's pretty damn powerful stuff.

    Current Favourite Veg
Now onto the asparagus reply, artichokes and my current favourite vegetable, aubergine.
Love asparagus spears with a little soft butter. Otherwise, I think they can be a little overrated. There are good ones and bad ones. I believe it depends on which soil they are grown in. Artichoke hearts are another one. Wonderful and soft in spiced oil. You can buy them in a salad jar. Aubergine - just great. I've always sliced and fried them in a little [ok, lots] of extra virgin olive oil, or roasted them in the same. There's also the classic Italian dish, using them called Melanzane, which is superb. Recently I came across a Madhur Jaffrey recipe incorporating them as the main ingredient and it is absolutely brilliant. And this is their season at the moment, so they are practically giving them away at 45p each. Think I've eaten something like a dozen of them in the past 2 weeks, and there are 4 new ones in the fridge right now.

Getting very middle class now, but Waitrose do this aubergine dip which is amazing. Nice alternative to houmous. It has a bit of lemon and cumin and I can't remember what else in it.

I also like my aubergines. Sliced thin and fried in egg batter. Oh lord.

(Also great news on the Sudanese lady)

Oh le god, that reads positively pornographic..! Going to have to look that up. :)
    The dip seems nice too.

Yeah, it is great news about the lady. Let's hope she stays free.

First time I tried that I was only about six years old, and I was in Crete. Been hooked since. That same week my super-responsible mother thought it would be interesting to see if I liked ouzo and raki, so that might explain a few things too.

I was thinking a tortilla wrap with some Tesco's chicken tikka slices and Hellmann's mayo.
