Can someone suggest we ask £50 million for Lallana now? In fact that's our entry-level price for all our players. Except Osvaldo.
Indeed. I think it is the monied equivalent. It's the same as saying... we don't need the money, but if you're stupid enough we'll take you to the cleaners... Well done Saints, is all I can say.
Even if he ends up going there in January or next summer I would love it if we just told them to go **** themselves. The way United have acted during this transfer has been arrogance of the highest order.
Media talk should not always be believed. I read on a Man U site apparently it was a done deal(30 odd mill transfer agreed) until Pochettino left and that Koeman is playing hard ball big time.
No no, media talk should always be believed if it suits your point but completely ignored if it doesn't.
Gobsmacking stupidity in this thread: http://www.redcafe.net/threads/luke-shaw.383141/page-140 Doesn't seem to have occurred to them that Saints don't want to sell.
I didn't think it was that bad personally, mostly just them hoping they don't spend £40m on him from what I saw, which I imagine is exactly what that figure is there for. This however made me laugh. I genuinely think that's one of the stupidest things I've ever seen on the bottomless pit of stupidity that is the internet.
This is perhaps the most fantastic comment I have read in many a year!! It is, as far as I can tell, completely sincere also... "And then the national team complain that the league has too many foreigners and our youngsters don't get time to develop. Well maybe if clubs like Southampton didnt go round ripping off the bigger clubs for potential talent these youngsters could improve. Abit hypocritical but let's be honest Shaw had more chance of developing into a class left back at United rather than spending extra years at Southampton." I mean, how dare we rip them off?!! Sorry Utd fans, we will behave from now on.
Incredible thinking. To accuse Saints of standing in the way of a player improving when we are virtually the only team turning out England youngsters...oh, the irony! If United are so good at it, why don't they churn out their own players now and save 40 million. Pleased we are playing hard ball, but really wish we weren't having the conversations at all. However, it does show that we are not a small side ready to be rolled over and that Katharina is backing the board and allowing them the freedom to take this stance. I notice in the Mail article that a transfer request from Dejan is mentioned....is that true?
