Clyne, Chambers, or even Kyle Walker would have been better. And if it has to be someone in the squad, Jordan Henderson played a Europa League match for Liverpool at RB and did OK.
Chambers is not good enough yet. Clyne, sadly, took too long to recover his place in the starting XI for Saints and Walker, like many fullbacks, is decent going forward but positionally very poor - as bad if not worse than Johnson.
I think I'll be more pissed off if we win this game now as it will prove that we should of been starting Shaw,lallana, Barkley
If I was a striker, and was clean through on a 1:1 with the keeper, would I rather face a loony from Poland, or the guy who does the shampoo adverts ? Hart`s a good keeper, but those ads are just wrong.
Now that there is nothing to play for except pride, England will probably go on and beat Costa Rica convincingly (they already top the group courtesy of the head to head against Italy and Uruguay and will be focusing on their last 16 match) Probably a case of what might have been. Any chance of England ditching the anaemic white shirt and donning red?
If we do end up winning, it'll probably be because Costa Rica are resting players too. Sorry, shouldn't be so negative! I am pleased that Adam and Luke are getting a start, Adam especially has deserved to see more time on the pitch. Rickie deserves to get a start too. Hopefully he will come on, and get longer than the 5 or so mins he's had so far, and a goal to boot.
Is it me or does European Championships qualifying seem pointless as all the decent teams will go through?!

Honestly, I'd rather face Hart than our star-jumping crazy man. Boruc is brilliant one-on-one [don't even think it..!].
He'd cut swathes through the defence though. Plus, if you take him down, he'll become more powerful than you can possibly imagine (yes, I know that's Obi-Wan really, but let's just go with it.....)
