Sanchez is a cracking little player, so if you got him plus £40m then you've had a right result imo.

That would be a damn fine deal IMHO... weather we could pull it off remains to be seen..
    We'd most likely get 15M plus a B Team player <doh>

that depends on context. he'll have 2 years on current deal so is he 30mil player? in today's market maybe but the rumors of bargain <20mil fees mean people instantly think that fee not 30 mil.

I personally think yeah whatever if suarez has to go but i'd want a damned good striker as well as sturridge is made of glass...

    Was a joke mate..
I agree, the board have shown they can play hard ball and seem to have learnt from past mistakes...
But, telling Arsenal to bugger off was one thing, telling the likes of Barca and RM who are world class at taping up players so the deal is always in their favour (unless they're dealing with Neymar's parents) is another matter.

you are right there. once the deal is right for the player (and he will be tapped up, they all are) then its hard to pull a levy and get the fee but the contract being new gives us the power.

Before the talk of Suarez, Sanchez was being mentioned @ around £24m, however that was pre the start of the WC....

So with the rumoured £65m buyout that added up about right.

Don't buyout clauses have to be met with actual money, not potential value of another player. I could offer £1mil + Player and claim that the other player was worth the rest of the value, even of that other player was a 38year old reserve.

Clubs rarely agree on player value, that's why they negotiate.

Barcelona should stick a £50M bid in and let Luis rock the boat. As a Saints fan, that would be awesome. CoughLallanaCough

Swap deals rarely happen these days and yes if a club wants to activate a buyout clause they've got to pay whatever it is.

Any deal for Sanchez would be a separate transaction.

Don't think you'll see Lallana leave this summer, your price is too steep and we seem to have lost interest. Fair play to you, keeping hold of your player these days is very difficult and clubs should be applauded for holding on, to either the player or the fee they want.

TBH I'd be very angry if we paid anymore than £20mil for him, and even that would annoy me, as I don't think he's worth it. And I'd guess for yourselves you'd be angry to lose him for anything less than £25mil. Don't think either set of fans would be happy with Lallana to Liverpool.
