Or get Di Maria from Madrid and play Sturridge central?

Di Maria would be epic, highly unlikely though :(

IMO shanchez is a wide player anyway... i don't see sanchez as a central striker figure really. or at meas more of a free man type.

Is Shane Portugal an American player- or does he play for Germany? :bandit:

  6. Germany have a much better goal difference so its unlikely anyone will overtake them other than USA...

on GD yes but they need the draw then.... usa can afford to draw also and go through as the best the rest can do is 4 points and both out be 5 point then.

I think an intra german pact is indeed in order thanks for clarifying.. i can stat my ronaldo laughing in earnest then.

I suspect Germany will beat the US. But the US is almost certainly through anyway... unless Germany absolutely destroy the US by a large goal margin.

if germany can f up that badly in second game i reckon the us can hold a draw if they play decent.

mad jurgens fitness crap seems to be paying off.

  11. Germany only need the draw to win the group. I thought we were talking about qualification for the next round?

    #3871
  12. Erm, no? USA are +1. Ghana are -1. If USA lose and Ghana win then their goal difference at worst will be equal.

will it go to GD or to head to head?

I think GD but with groups it can literally be exactly idential GD and GS.

in any event... sorry USA but i only care that ronaldo is crying and messi is laughing

  14. This WC is GD first <ok>

    Edit:

The ranking of teams in each group is based on:

    1. Points in all group matches, with three points awarded for a win, one point for a draw and none for a loss.
    2. Goal difference in all group matches
    3. Goals scored in all group matches
    4. Points in matches between tied teams
    5. Goal difference in matches between tied teams
    6. Goals scored in matches between tied teams
    7. Drawing of lots

    so.....

lets just say germany win right.

    we all love the germans

    so.

USA won 2-1 over ghana so that means on bullet 4 matters... i fail to see in the event of a draw how points 5 & 6 work but how and ever.

GD and GS would have to be the same for th usa win to matter.

USA have scored 4 goals. (conceeded 3)

Ghana have scored 3 goals (conceeded 4)

therefore if usa lose by any number of goals then ghana must win by 2 clear goals correct?

    that simple really.

IF Ghana win. I think a draw most likely, following that a Portugal victory. Whereas not impossible- I suspect the least likely outcome is Ghana winning.

Although Portugal aren't really showing it this world cup- they're ranked 4th in the world to Portugal's 36th.
