Another early signing. Well early for Argyle anyway and not a bad one at that I think. I must say there haven't been any signings that have caused me to be worried or people leaving if I'm honest. I'm a little surprised at Young going Conference because I think he is better than that if not a World beater.
Steady on sensible don't dare you make decisions off your own back......just wait for Punchdrunk to put you right.....there all total crap.....Brent out. PS.....Has any league club shown any interest in wanting Young.....I haven't heard of any yet. That's why he's signed a two year contract with Torquay today.
Word is he turned down Colchester in favour of Torquay which seems an odd decision. More money, league football etc. Perhaps he'd miss his Mum too much...... I've given up caring what any village idiot from Jamville has to say plym. It used to be a bit comical to read the rants but now it's just tedious. It would be easier if they just had a half dozen different posts and somebody got the job of posting one of them to cover the going subject. That's about as original as it all is.
I haven't been too worried if the money comes from Brent or not....just glad that we are getting a better class of player than last years intake.
"Spend money on better players". That has been the cry from the other site for ages now. He's tight, doesn't spend anything blah blah blah. Now he is actually signing players who are reckoned to be better players than the ones we had and isn't taking a continuous loan route he is still to blame for something somehow. Any excuse to have a little drip and that is from a site whose members generally don't even attend. Not prepared to put any money in the pot themselves but expect somebody else to put all of their's. Lets all rejoice that somebody who financially supports Argyle in sponsorship has gone to the wall. Three cheers and all that. Lets all hope that Argyle go back into Admin and this time liquidation and then they would no doubt be satisfied except they would have nothing left to drip about then. The saddest bunch of tossers I've ever had the misfortune to meet even if it is only on a website.
From somebody who can't generally type anything without a name call added that is rich indeed. And the answer to your question is no you can't. I refer to ATD rather than you as an individual and the general happening on a Saturday is very few of the poster who complain constantly go to matches. That's not cantankerous it is a fact and you cannot deny that. Why are you bothering on here punchdrunk? Is it to cause the same trouble as you did over there eventually? You kept telling me I didn't fit in with the general concensus and should "F" off elsewhere. Well you don't fit in here so what do you intend? Knowing you it will be to stick around just to upset if you can. Sad little man with a chip.
You and a few others punchdrunk and I've no intention of trawling through acres of posts to find them on another site. I see Heir Iggy has done his thing at last over there. You must be orgasmic by now given what you tried to do as a mod and failed.
I'm not going to respond to attempts at arguments on here anymore. Others can make their own minds up as far as I'm concerned. The facts are that this is a poster who continuously posts libellous claims about Brent and PCC Councillors regarding "brown envelopes" allegedly changing hands. He spent months and months regailing against yet another Argyle fan site and the people who run it as being controllers of all things. He objected to people being bannned for apparently nothing more than disagreeing with the main arguments. Somehow he became a Mod on his chosen site and promptly ran amok in the modroom by deleting several peoples accounts out of the blue. Funnily enough these were people who didn't always agree with him. He deleted his own account when the inevitable hit the fan and was absent for a short period. Now has been accepted back despite all of the above by his little like minded playmates who have also deleted somebody for disagreeing. Disagreeing is apparently being deliberately disruptive. This is despite it being a supposed Democratic discussion board. They don't like the similarities being pointed out with the site they object to so loudly. Tell me all of the above is a lie.....
Ok I'm going to jump back on topic. I think our primary concern now is to try and tie capt Conor to a new 18mth-2yr deal and find a decent (but not too decent) cover for Luke. RB is another area of concern, but I believe Sheridan is currently searching for a man to fill this role.
Absolutely agree with both of that hobo. It should be back on topic and we should try to extend Hourihane's contract and tie him down for a longer period. I think with better players around him he will be an even better player than he is turning out to be anyway. It's quite crucial we keep him in my book although I would understand it if the money being offered went up considerably.
Herald suggesting that Hourihane is on the point of signing for Barnsley.....I hope we get a true reflection of what PAFC value him at.....we have no reason to give players away anymore.
Gone for an undisclosed amount.....I'd like to know how much....surely got a true valuation for him ?
Club statement as reported by the Herald says: "Our decision was made on the basis that Conor only had 12 months remaining on his contract and he was unwilling to sign an extension. Given his age, that would have enabled him to leave the club without compensation in a year's time." It will be interesting to see if it pays off for him: Barnsley won only 9 and lost 25 in the Championship last year as they were relegated. We know that when a clubs starts to fall it's sometimes difficult to stop....
Disappointing but if he wouldn't extend then I suppose it was inevitable. A great pity this and having said I was pleased with pre-season signings and how the outfit was going then this kind of puts the skids on that. Now we have to replace him and it is bound to be with a freebie isn't it. I doubt Barnsley are in free fall and I think they have spent most of their time between leagues two and three in old money and an occasional climb up top.
Hi Plymborn. Yes been renovating, we are uprooting due to the impending stand development. Some geezer in a hard hat told me we would have to move so he could place a flipping portaloo...the nerve. Still we have seen a nice plot near Devonport stand with a nice view so watch this space. sad to see Hourihane has left. That buggers up our plans a bit. Hopefully we can get someone in with the same passion he showed last season. Good luck for the future though Conor!!!
I think every club must go through this sort of disappointment and that includes the real biggies who have shown they can't hold onto a player if he wants to leave no matter who the club is. It happens in football all the time and clubs just get on with it, have a look about, hire someone else and life goes on. In this case I don't think it shows any lack of ambition on Argyle's part. They turned down an offer twice but the club chasing were a bit determined and the player wanted to sign for them. Done deal in anyone's book. As disappointing as this is life goes on and we will sign other players. Whether this disrupts too much or wrecks our season to come will only be told when we see how we go. I don't actually blame Brent or Sheridan or Hourihane for that matter for this. It is the way of football and anyone who thinks otherwise is plainly not up to speed with how things go in the real world.
If they do start working on the new Grandstand hobo......watch out for the asbestos dust being removed from the old stand.
Just imagine the truckloads of discarded hopes and broken dreams that will have removed from under those ancient seats....... Bit maudlin for a sunny day. Pasty crumbs on the other hand are never a problem. Adjust your position according to the prevailing wind and they go neatly down the collar of the person in front.
