I think the big thing here is the location. He is settled in the backwater that is Ayrshire and at 30 does not want to uproot his family. Fair enough, I can understand that.

I concur. And I suspect being a Rangers man at heart has also played a big part in his thinking. Despite Dev's best efforts I'd be surprised if there was much difference between what he's being offered to return to Rangers and what he'd get elsewhere. Simply put, he wants to come home.
