Windsor 8:10 POLYBIUS 13-8 sadly not even close to the tissue price but I think David Lanigans horse has been seriously undervalued by the handicapper. He absolutely bolted up in his C&D maiden and although the horses behind him have been pretty disappointing since I believe this one is a good deal better than 84. I will be surprised if he doesn't win this quite comfortably.

    Other Windsor selections
    6:40 Arthur Martinleake
    7:10 Principal Equation
    7:40 Voyageofdiscovery/Dullingham
    8:40 Stockhill Diva
    9:10 Classical Art

I'd be keen to get it beat to be honest. Like you said, his win LTO was a poor enough race. The debut run was against horses that have been generally disappointing since. He's got an opening mark of 84 which I think is quite high to have to run against experienced animals of similar ratings. If Polybius is a lot better than 84 he will win but in my eyes, Meritocracy e/w at 7/1 is a better proposition and if I bet tomorrow it will be on him.

    6.00 Lingfield. GENAX
First run for new stable. Hasn't run since December. In fact all its previous runs have been at odds of 25-1 or larger. The gamble on this already at 9pm is huge. Forecast price was 16-1. Currently down to 7-2 with Hills and still dropping. Surely something going on here?

    Hello lads.

Just back from a month of SSS at our Andalusian bolt hole..brown as a (Halle) Berry and now catching up on the action.

No surprise Spain was eliminated at the old WC...tragic selection but VDB will avoid the inquests due to previous success.

18 of the top 20 Spanish soccer scribes (sorry Rod Liddle) were content with his bewildering choices.

    Xavi,Iker,Torres,Costa,Cazorla...unreal...no Llorente,Navas,Negredo,Ander,Muniaín.

Just watched the RA action....2-y-o's were moderate except from for the WC winner who could easily suit a Northorpe challenge..would not be the first to beat the older ones in this...

Performance of the week was from Eagle Top.He beat a very good colt easily and his potential is very exciting.

Kingman?...he can win what he wants, but like Kris, will always be remembered as a 2000 Guineas beaten fav.

Clown of the week?..Not Gook Wan but Harry Herbert...what a slurping, crawling nauseating toady...how well named he is.

    GL all!

She's a horse I notebooked after her 3rd start when I thought she ran very eye catchingly at 100/1. I took some 8s earlier this evening but miles too short now. She's one I think could be very nicely handicapped but it's very, very hard to tell if she is.

Old boy Herbert must have fitted in well at Royal Ascot. I didn’t go this term but my Uncle and cousin did and both said the meeting has become little more than a PR and promotional exercise for the Saxe-Coburgs and overseas Royalty with an opportunity to suck up to them presented to racegoers every few minutes. They reckoned that within a year or two it would be solely the preserve of Monarchists and the ‘marching and saluting’ brigade as anyone 'normal' would have been driven away by the nonsense.

Although as London has just purchased its own water cannon and as the tabloids have this past week been ripping up the chap who answers to the moniker ‘The Duke of Cambridge’ (£12 million spent on him last week by the taxpayers - £8 million on a helicopter and £4 million to furnish a flat) maybe Revolution is in the air and there will never be another Royal Ascot!

You are a bitter man Dex - but funny.

Speaking of which - Does anyone, and without looking up on Google, remember who the horse running in the first at Windsor tonight is named after? Louie De Palma is the horses name.

One from the tracker for me Thirsk 8.20 REAL TIGRESS went into the book after bolting up at Beverley, since then she was a beaten fav on soft ground (not sure she acts on it). Last time out she was 3rd beaten 4 1/2 lengths but her rein snapped early on and she lost all chance. Running off 74 I believe she will have one more win in her before the handicapper gets hold.

    Al Naamah 12:15p.m. & Jarada 2:20p.m. Chantilly(F)

Bought by Al Shaqab Racing at Tattersalls last year the filly Al Naamah by Galileo out of Alluring Park, doubled the previous record price for a yearling sold in auction when fetching 5,000,000 guineas. Trained by Andre Fabre she makes her debut in this conditions event, but Frankie wont be riding as he can't do the weight. He will however be at Chantilly to ride fellow newcomer Jarada a 3-Y-O filly by Sea the Stars trained by Alain de Royer-Dupre who has an Irish Oaks entry.

    Good Luck <ok>

Got to agree with Dex, Kingman can win what he wants. He was brilliant in the St. James. For me, he's about as talented a three year old going around. In view of the Guineas defeat, I suppose I'm in line for a bit of a kicking. Australia was wonderful in the Derby, but the win that stood out for me, (besides Kingman) was that of Sole Power in the Stand. He had the race won a long way out, and the effort of Richard Hughes was think, the ride of the carnival.

As pointed out by Attivo, AL NAAMAH made her debut at Chantilly some 15 minutes ago. By all accounts she won nicely.

I'm glad she's made it into the winners enclosure as the previous record price of 2,500,000 guineas in 2007 was held by the Sadler's Wells filly Liffey Dancer, who went into training with Luca Cumani, but never raced, being retired to stud at 3.

Fancy a quick across the card double later this afternoon for Richard Hannon. The first one is POTENTATE at 3.40 Chepstow and then LETACQ at 3.55 Lingfield. Currently 15\8 and 2/1. All being well any returns to go onto Sticks tip POLYBIAS later on at Windsor but is only EVS at the moment.

Reminds me somewhat of The Green Monkey who after a breeze up, fetched 16 million US as a two old in 2006. He was useless. He was retired after managing just a single place from three efforts.
