he would be better suited to Barcelona than Madrid tbh.

he would get completely over shadowed at Madrid. It would be good to see him lose the plot more often I suppose.

Reports yesterday that Barca and Real are in a £100m bidding war for Suarez - really - probably not. Don't understand why the headlines are saying 'shock move' etc. no Liverpool fans I personally know will be shocked if he leaves!

Setting the newspaper waffle to one side.

He'll turn 28 this season and if he does want to move to one of the Spanish giants, then he may never get another opportunity after this summer.

I think he peaked last season when he was simply sublime for 3/4's of it, until he ran out of steam in the last month or 2. I doubt his stock will ever be higher than it is this summer given the WC finishing off a near perfect year for him. I'm sure he's figured that out for himself and you'd not be surprised if he decided that the time was now....

There is there's not.. in the end its all speculation til the bid comes.. he could be ruined for life playing half fit at the tournament and we could sell for 70mil and look torres good on transfers again.
then spend it all on some donkey.

If there is indeed a release clause, how can there be a bidding war? Surely both teams just have to meet it and it's up to the player negotiations to decide where he will end up?

    Sounds like more rag-rounds BS.

If there is this purported release clause of 60mil euros it will undoubtedly be only in the event we finished out of the CL places. No way we would renegotiate such a terrible contract with that low a release clause. It's just press BS trying to detract from the fact England and Spain have been dumped out of the World Cup early

I guess the bidding war is not on his price tag but on who can offer him the best package. But we know what the English press are like don't we Luis <laugh>

There are buyout clauses in his contract it's just the amounts and the terms that are unknown and therefore the subject of much conjecture.

It remains to be seen whether one of the big 2 in Spain choose to put their dosh up. Only then will we find out what it is.

I agree. its the amounts quoted that are just plain off.

I don't fancy barca, they talk a good game but hid a lot of the neymar fee and could be in toruble. Real might try but then we hear then winking wonder doesn't fancy it. until someone ponies up... well lets just say with a CL trpohy in the pocket the pressure is off real to deliver another mega fee. i think they need new midfield more anyway.

I think Barca would be favourites personally. They need a lift after a poor season by their standards. His wife's family live in the area and does anyone ever say no to them?

Barcelona v/s Liverpool? More money, City, climate, people, family, language, culture, enviroment. How can he possibly not choose Liverpool?

Seriously, no one will be shocked if he chooses to leave. It is a short career and he has to think what is best for him and his family.

Of all the 'reasons' you listed, climate [possibly] and language are the only ones I see as important to him. Spanish culture is nothing like S American culture and given that he loves Liverpool and where he lives and that his little family are happy and settled, moving again could actually disrupt them.

I do expect him to move sooner rather than later, this summer, don't know, but maybe he is accelerating it now since his injury, getting his move to Madrid while his body is still up to it.
