I'd be worried if I was a Swansea fan, I'd be thinking he's a Bony replacement not a Bony partner.

I'd also be worried for other reasons, not related to football, predominantly orthodontic reasons.

 

Big blow for Newcastle and possibly an even bigger one for Swansea as this looks like they'll cash in on Bony. Used to love Gomis a few years back but I think his pace has gone abit and he's not the same player.

 

Thank god, average player at best, and demanding over the odds by all accounts and full of himself. Exactly the kind of player we dont want, I'd be mortified if we signed him.

gomes is a good player and you know it . as far as £70k/week then you don't know our club at all as we have not made the top 50 richest club by paying silly wages. we are a club of achievement which is something Sunderland have not done for years and are one of the favorites for the drop again this season....

The general view on the Newcastle board was that as a player he would be handy to have up front but with the attitude he seemed to be bringing and wages that were being talked about we could do without the baggage. I'm so-so on us not getting him, I don't think he would have markedly improved us but on the other hand I'm not convinced we are going to sign anyone of note anyway.

In all honestly I'm seeing a tough season ahead for both of us (12-16 position). Hard to be positive about sport at the moment.

 

Well you've lost Remy, Shola & de Jong, Cisse is a crock and Sammy is ****e.
