yes they can but they can't then swan back when their career needs a boost etc.

I think every player is basically forced to play some form of international football if they are any good. If not england whomever. I am sure for example bale has absolutely no interest in wales as they will never qualify for anything... so he'll fake injuries for friendlies like giggs did.

I agree with your summation of the squad btw.

I do think that if you close the door you should not be let back in until say the start of qualifying for the next torunament or whatever. It'd be the mature way of going about it... Lets be frank however carragher was accused of bottling it and foolishly went on talkshite when best ignored and then drew criticism for answering the call as well. the same critics who'd blame you for wwii as well as england going out would castigate you for being unpatriotic so you are damned either way.

The **** is there to be patriotic about? The fact that our countrys identity has been erased in the last 50 years since we let everyone from every race and religion just settle down here and put up a f**king synagogue or Mosque in every town?
Or the lazy, work shy, scum bags (most of whom are English contrary to popular belief), who bleed our state dry because they cant be arsed to drag their assholes out of bed in the morning and put in a days graft?
Or our celebrity obsessed media, who think that just because someone in on TV then their private life is fair game and they can be followed and harassed by paparazzi when trying to have a quiet dinner or take their kid to school.
Or the dim witted no life f**k tards who buy the celeb magazines that the Paps work for because they want to see Danielle Lloyd with cellulite on her thigh or read about Jordans latest "affair"?
Or our government, who let the super rich get away with paying **** all tax while the people who work 6 days a week and barely make enough to feed their families get taxed up the arse and their child support slashed because a bunch of greedy bankers bankrupted our country?
And the rest of the MP's who earn 200k a year and then blather on about people claiming benefits they arent entitled to, but then claim for a rebate against their expenses like an extra house or a £245 lunch they had at the Hilton (Pizza Hut was right next door Bruh!).
Or the scum of the earth, ******ed mouth breathing, breeders who go on Jeremy Kyle each morning to complain that their ex boyfriends run off with their sister and wont pay CSA for their 6 kids? And they are both unemployed?

England, the land where dreams come true.......How can you be patriotic?

well thats a difeerent matter? no?

It doesn't matter cos the rags will label you it and thus castigate you.

As for the religious places of worship thats one for you and sisu to argue on as I am not going to go there.

My point is merely if you decide you are not interested you'll be torn a new one by the press.

    No, you are right.
Guess I am just waiting for the day when someone, be it a sports star, Actor, musician or whatever, says "f**k the press".
Eminem was outstanding in this capacity when he first came on the scene, but has mellowed with age. (and American)
The press are a big part of the problem. I just dont understand why the citizens of the UK are so interested in people they dont know and have never met, if they have put on weight, or are drinking too much, or have cheated on their partners...pisses me off.

England means f**k all and is worth f**k all, because we have made it this way, and then we are shocked when it gets treated as such. But thats what it deserves, even from its footballers.

I agree with the sentiment but it is ill aimed..there is nothing wrong with a Synagogue or a Mosque......or the people that enter it.

I find it quite hypocritical that you have a problem with people entering this country when almost all of the team you follow have done the same......and you cry about an identity?

and what identity are you seeking? this identity of yours and this great land's is exactly why there are losers in this country qualified enough to be in trashy magazines and Jeremy Kyle programmes. Next time you see a Jew or Muslim with their issues on such programmes then let us know <ok>.

This country and those crying for its identity need to remember how this great Land of yours built a lot of its history and certainly modern day history by pillaging and waging war against poorer nations....usually for monatery gain nowadays and land expansion in the past.....England and colonialism...a marriage made in heaven just like fish and chips <ok>

And so you should be,to play for your Country is the biggest privilege you can receive in football, regardless if the team isn't doing great or not.

I'm Welsh and if Wales were to call me up, well, I'd be in dream world.

The UK seem like the only place where players aren't fussed playing for the country and it's a real shame. Maybe we should play players who actually see it as a privlage and maybe we can do better,

its all a load of ****...I wouldn't see it as the biggest honour....its all subconscious tribalism and Nationalism...have a closer look at this religion we call football.

I wouldn't want to play for a crock of ****...id rather concentrate on the club that pays my wages....instead of pretending I give a ****.......

Do these ****s represent their country for free? they don't get even a penny? something which is for honour does not have a rate of pay.

Besides the fact that any house of worship of a magical sky fairy is ******ed beyond belief and the fact that we still hold on to the medieval ideal of a deity is shocking as well as a burden to the advancement of humanity, this type of "acceptance" isnt found anywhere else, at least not on this scale.
I dont particularly blame foreign people, and I am not against immigration (this country would collapse without it) I am just irked that our government allow people to come here and then try to incorporate their "beliefs" and culture in to ours, because it really isnt going to work.

Racism is just fear, and you will never abolish fear.

Dont get me wrong, racism for the sake of racism is one of the most backwards things in existence, there are dicks from every race and England, I wager, would rank highly if a dick poll was taken.
But there is nothing inherently "English" about England any more, nor has there been since the 80's. Its now just a mish mash of people who lack guidance, identity and support of any kind from their elected leaders. And we wonder why people turn to sex and drugs as an escape.

spot on...nevertheless....the tools for escape cant be justified.....its that very culture you talk about that tells its people these things are ok with no repercussions.

Not so much sex thats the problem, sex is great.
    Its procreation without thought.
Why dont people use contraception man!! If you cannot afford to feed the 2 children you have, why make a third?
You can go to a Brooks clinic and pick up a zillion condoms for free.

I vetted the woman who I wanted to be mother of my children, took me 12 years. Because its kind of a big deal, creating a person, the whole "meh" attitude towards it these days is shocking.

so does this boil down to the BNP need to run the Fa then? is that where this thread is going?

cos honestly england's best players don't adhere to their politics.. if you get my meaning.

Its amazing how many players get "injured" during an international breaks in football, these players are no better, if not worse than those that actually asked not to be picked.

I think they are worse...at least the ones not wanting to be picked said what they thought.

However if they are so big then they would say it now too.

yes someone being honest... the equivalent might be marcus trescothick so soemone in cricket and if they are honest saying its not for them its better than playing the "premium" or high exposure matches to further themselves then feign injury when your side plays san marino or whoever.

I think the international caladner is at issue where genuinely we see certain countries touring the middle east on premier tours (spain, uragauy, etc) or we see england playing dross at home. We see suarez off around the globe every friendly window or back in SA bust his balls and then we see the shirkers not bothering to turn in. Like i said yesterday gerrard might be past it and due retiring but he turned in every chance he got.

In the end i think if you don't hold a standard here you may as well toss it all cos the very people saying there's no value will be the guys buzzing when 2016 rolls round and going mad when england once again fail

I think I can kind of understand it from some players point of view.

Just as an example: England have 2 friendlies at some point during the season therefore the PL get a week off... If you are Jermaine Jenas and you get called up, you are about 6th in line in that midfield and will not get on the pitch... Would you rather a very rare week off or go training with the England egos for a week?

Since when did players crying off International friendlies become news ffs?

It's been happening for decades, sometimes driven by the club concerned and sometimes by the player. Who the **** cares?

Melted cheese face in stating the bleeding obvious 'exclusive' <doh>

    Media whore that man
