Cracking that! Anybody spot the familiar face? 34:02 in the background behind the left handed girl playing darts.
That was brilliant! I was 16 back in 1973 and I remember how it was back then. I loved the bit about the humber bridge is coming and salmon will be jumping up the river. Hull's biggest export when the fishing industry went bad was it's youth and I'm one of the ones that left but we never forget where we came from. I really liked the bit at the begining when the journalist said I envy the people of Hull they have a mist in their eyes and they always know where home is. Hull got screwed by Westminster just like New Orleans got screwed by Washington DC after Katrina but both cities are home to some of the proudest people in the world and I am very proud of my birthplace. The boxes on Bransholme stuff was funny too, oh and I do'nt remember the rock gardens and goldfish ponds at Picky park looks more like East Park to me. One last thing I loved the little switzerland scenes and them walking under the bridge to hessle foreshore lord that took me back in time. Thanks for posting that little gem Shaun a brilliant moment in time frozen forever to remember
Amazing. I remember watching this in 73. Cant believe you have found it. I remember another one set in Hull about a group of kids trying to get a copper boiler out of a drain so they could flog it. Cheers for finding this shaun.
Somebody post who it is please! Thanks for posting Shaun I watched it right through, very interesting!
Eh? I'm really not that fussed whether you tell me your filthy little secret or not, but Nick's going round the twist with not knowing.
Ah, "it's not me but my friend in the closet" He's called Jim Smith. As I said, if you didn't recognise him, you're not of an age and there's no point pursuing it. emoticon-0103-cool:
Apology accepted. You weren't meant to care, as was mentioned earlier, it was bit of interest for some longer serving folk. Nothing for you nippers to worry about.
I last saw him at Hull Fair last year, believe it or not behind a hoopla stall. Brought back memories of my youth and away-day 5am set-offs to Brighton outside the Electricity Showrooms!! Happy days!!
Go on, tell the young whipper-snappers who it is. You never know they might provide him with some extra business!!!
