Looking at this Portugal side, it makes you wonder how Paulo Bento admitted to not knowing of José Fonte.

Thought he was poor all game to be honest. Missed a sitter and screwed up a 4/5v2 with a poor pass too. Seems to be pretty popular as a supposedly underrated player but I've never seen him be anything other than distinctly average.

He shouldn't get forward so much, that's not where his strengths are. He's best sitting back and breaking up play. But I guess with Jones and Beckerman on the pitch too to do that job he can end up further up.
You're right though, he was poor all game. Especially that 4/5v2 situation, that's where someone like Donovan wouldn't have messed up, still can't believe Landycakes isn't there.

Its still a long shot, need Germany to win by two goals and then any Ghana win would be enough but USA will likely sit deep and make it tough, especially with Klinsmann wanting to keep out his fellow germans. Still, Portugal can't go through (unless Germany spank the yanks) as they are on -4 goal difference, but they will need to attack , meaning we should see an open game. <cheers>

Really is going to be an interesting watch in those last two games. I may need to stream one and watch the other on TV. They suggested that ASA and Germany may play out for the draw but I can't see that happening and really hope it doesn't. For a start, it could backfire on them if Ghana spank Portugal couldn't it?

Anyway, great game, this is the World Cup that just keeps on giving!
