It won't matter with those extra shirt sales kicking in following the Godlike-genius rebranding to "No name 1904".. recognition - that's what we need
It appears that sadly Wobblefish borrowed that gem from that bastion of wit known as the HDM’s comment section " RobTenerife | June 22 2014, 10:23AM Hold on has anyone asked CTWD if its ok to sign a player, it might not fit with their plans for the future of the team." http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/Hull...ke-Livermore/story-21273431-detail/story.html Lovely sense of humour.
Only two done deals according to SKY Sports. Fabregas £30 million. Paid too much. Lambert £4 million. Paid too much. good but 32 and slow as it is, and he's not first choice. The tv moneys really kicked in, transfers are going to be inflated greatly i fear this year.
I think that we'll definitely see further price inflation this year - several teams were spending really silly amounts last season and fingers were getting burnt throughout the league (Norwich, Spurs, Cardiff, Man Utd., even Arsenal who paid a huge amount for Ozil only to see him fade into relative mediocrity). The suggested fee for Livermore still represents good value for money in the current climate and I'd be chuffed if City do manage to make him a permanent signing.
Quality costs - for £12m we have a PL capable midfield. Your current Championship midfield will not keep you in the PL. So your point is irrelevant.
We paid almost twice the Lambert fee for Jelavic and he's nowhere near as good. I appreciate that he's 32, but £4m for a player of his quality is a bargain.
You've waited 3 and a half years to post a comment you've copied from the HDM site... Wow! Well done!
I'd agree, Fabregas about right as that is the cheapest they would get him and Lambert possibly £6-8m.
I bet you're fun at parties. No one outside of a club will ever know exact details of wages, so I'd argue that the only available variable we can judge a player on is his transfer fee. So yes, you can judge value without knowing wage payments, because wages sit within a payment scale for each club. When a player signs he fits within that pay scale
Oh, if it was so. Plenty of players have received a lot more wages because there was no or little fee involved. So by your reckoning Lescott would have been a great deal because there was no transfer fee. You must think that if Bendtner comes to City it will be a fantastic deal.
Excellent news if/when he signs permanently. It's best to spend a bit more on a player we know than a bit less on an inferior player. I wouldn't be surprised if Jake didn't offer to help pay for his transfer with the alternative being Palace!
http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/Hull...ke-Livermore/story-21277654-detail/story.html mail saying £7-8 mill, but what do they know ? Also medical today
Bravo, sir. What an excellent start to your not606 career. I look forward to more fabulous wit from you.
http://www.holmesdale.net/page.php?id=106&tid=133951&page=7 This gets good around page 5. Love it how Palaces transfer dealings will be so improved under Pulis with their ownership, no panicking, no **** holloway signings, everything done early. What a great signing Livermore would be! Page 7 Signed for hull. Going to get left behind by everyone in the transfer market, will be scrapping around for dregs come august 31st, Pulis should be at home getting deals over the line not in Brazil enjoying the World Cup, what a failure it's going to be, bla bla bla. It's worse than on here at the worst of times
