I have told my 10 year old that a QPR player in the 80s was one of the first to do the step over on tv, but I cant find a clip of Glen Roader anywhere.

My mate used to try this when we played Sunday League, he got it right once!!!!! He used to think he was Mick Mills, but played like Mrs Mills!!!
brilliant Nines.... Goddard was a very good friend of mine and i went with him when he bought his blue Fiat X19. His family never moved from hayes and lived ubder he flyover into Heathrow. his dad ( a really decent bloke) used to come into Steve perryman Sports Hayes town, where i worked and was a great guy. Was a captain at Boys brigade too i think. Always said hello to me and a mentor in my life i remember playing footie for our team and Paul played a game. at kick off he took the ball all the way to the 18 yrd line before geting fouled by a big Scot defender called MacDonald. His dad didnt allow him to take the kick as he was taking the piss.... Mac Donald BTW, was a product of the Celtic youth system...and was quality...ended up pro in the US i think. real good blokes with a sense of where they came from.... Miss those days
I lived in Hayes and remember the Steve Perryman shop opening - used to go in there a fair amount as got discount playing for St Clarets - you may have sold me a pair of boots at some point Queens!
