Morning Folks,

How are we,

What a beautiful weekend...

I travelled up to Bognor Regis yesterday to see my folks, and had a Mr Whippy at the beach

Might just get the ol housework done today, iron some shirts for the week and have a few beers.

Cellino has confirmed that he will be using the Cagliari monies to buy back Elland Road...

Don't know about you, but that is a giant step forward.

As far as I am concerned regarding GC stepping down as Chairman of LUST, I cannot understand why he is being given so much stick???

His intentions were / are good, he is the only one of us to actually get off his ass into the firing line, and try to do something constructive!!!

Did he always make right decisions?

No

Did he make mistakes?

Yes

BUT, he always tried to do what he thought was best at the time, about the club he loves. Let's not forget, he did not profit from his position, like so many have in the past.

Good morrow Matt and co from you've guessed it a sunny Bardsey.
Chris Humphreys whom we talked about before he signed for SG has been talked about but he states he his happy at PNE this will be the problem attracting players as Dave is an unknown
I think we will have to wait until Cellino brings is guru from Italy before any business will be conducted
So all this talk only MC and his right hand man will know their targets
Going to IOM next wed for a few days with my cousin from Canada does anyone know where there is some good places to eat?
It will give my wife time to rest after her surgery for a ruptured shoulder ligaments which I'm afraid to say may be not successful due to atritus setting in caused by the fall so fingers crossed !she will be OK

Morning Mike, firstly one thing I am sure we all agree on, is a speedy full recovery for your wife.

Re Dave, the people whose day to day lives revolve around football would have heard of him, and he seems to have a pretty good rep, though to people like us, he remains an unknown force. Cellino is a shrewd business man, he needs us to get to the promised land.

Morning all, completely agree with comments regarding GC elland. We will never all agree with each other but respect for putting the effort in. We all talk the talk but he actively did something which is commendable.

I see in one of the morning papers we are linked with a defender who has recently played for Dover and Maidenhead, cant remember his name at this time sorry. Is this the level of player we attract now? Could he be another gem like Beckford?

Same paper also says that there is a link with Nigel Reo-coker who is looking to come home from the Vancouver White caps? Good championship level player or has been?

Morning hamese, I agree re GC.

The defender you mentioned is Andre Blackman, a 23 yo left back. Started his career as a promising Gooner. Since 2006, he has played for 7 or eight other clubs

Morning all - Painting the decking today and just taking a break. Cellino once again saying he is going to buy back ER is great news, maybe it is because we have been let down so many times before I still can see an excuse coming, the council asking too much or a stumbling block, I just hope I am wrong.

GC - Tells too many porkies, likes blowing his own trumpet and was the wrong man in the job. I have no proof if he was good or bad or if he had himself or Leeds at heart, none of us do, all opinions, I respect the opinions of those that feel positive towards what he did, I am just not one of those <ok>

Morning all,

Nicola Salerno, head of player recruitment at Cagliari, has turned down the chance to become sporting director at Palermo and will join up with Leeds instead.
Expect an influx of players from Serie A and Serie B - he has plenty of contacts.

Personally think this is great news.

Sorry, can't put a link using iphone. It's on Leeds newsnow

Salerno turns down Palermo for Leeds United

Nicola Salerno has turned down Palermo to join Leeds United as sporting director.

Salerno has been linked with a move to Elland Road ever since Massimo Cellino took over at the club.
Salerno held talks with Palermo last week but has turned them down, and flown to England to team up with his former President at Cagliari.

Speaking to Italian reporters regarding Palermo Salerno said “I do not have the heart.”“I can confirm that I have turned down Palermo. The club wanted an immediate response, while I did not have sufficient certainty.

”
It is now expected that Leeds will have an influx of players come in from Serie A & Serie B given Salerno and Cellino’s contacts in Italy. He is expected to sit down with the owner, Benito Carbone andDave Hockaday as early as next week to identify players for a promotion challenge.

Good morning all, don't know if it's the marvellous weather but I am feeling just a bit more positive, I re-watched the press conf last night and this time listened to the words and tried not to focus on how low calibre the coaches 'appear' to be

Thought Hock had some fair answers and I am - finally - starting to warm to Cellino. I think he will eventually buy ack ER which for me is important, the way the coaches role was described seemed fine to me, he focuses on the ayers but has input as part of management team into signings - sounds fine to me.

Plus I like Cellino's comments about the fans paying for season tickets before essentials for their families. ..... Only words, but can't imagine recent owners saying the , and said genuinely too

Some hints new players are being worked on - if a few come in and we get a director of football I think we could start to feel good a out the club again

I have not felt good since about 2009(?) when we sold Delph and it became apparent Bates was ot going to manage things the way I wanted (and, when I think about it, Cellino does seem to be managing things the way I'd like )

I need my decking on the balcony done too pal.

All I'm saying about GC is that he did what he believed in for the sake of LUFC. There was no financial gain there. Newspapers and media are very clever how they bend the truth for their own gain.

Morning all. Agree on GC. Any Leeds supporter willing to get off his arse and try do good for the club is ok in my books even if it didn't always go according to plan.
On transfer rumours, couldn't be bothered. Fans only get wound up discussing players we didn't get and in most cases we weren't in for them anyway. More than likely, anyone Cellino signs won't be known to us until after they've signed and likely well know nothing about them anyway

Couldn't give a flying **** about GC or LUST, don't know enough about him or LUST to have an opinion about them. I will say that he's a Leeds Utd fan and that I respect, I also don't like the personal insults he has had to take, it's not banter, it's just plain nasty.
I do have a lot of respect for the likes of Ray Fell.

Salerno will be in charge of incomings and outgoings, and will be a major cog in the Elland Road wheel

Shaks makes a really good point. Banter is one thing, but personal insults is another. He's tried to do the best for what he believes in for LUFC, and for that I thank him

Fair enough Elland, I was up for the Wall game, but I was hoping it was going to be later in the season. So I'm over for the Boro and Uddersfield games instead. If the match had an early kick off I could fly in and out of Stanstead on the same day.
