I'm hearing 1904 (the club with no name) are as many as 5k down on their passholders from last season. Other reports suggest as many as 8000 down. Doubt it? Ask them. Strange that...after our greatest ever season. Face facts fellow City fans, every month that the Allams are at the helm, is a month wasted. They need go as a matter of urgency. Hopefully ctwd will wise up also to this reality.
Obviously this needs to be proven when the final numbers are published - however it seems that the club are tracking towards an unbelievable poor sales figure in the wake of our finest season by a light year (a country mile isn't a big enough distance) This is from a guy who claims to understand business and understand marketing - is he having a laugh? I struggle to fathom how badly run Hull City is - so badly run our owners don't even call us Hull City - can you imagine the CEO of any other business refusing to acknowledge the name of the business which produces the revenue? They would be put in a white coat and led out of the building When he saved us he was rightly regarded as a fine supporter of the people of the city of Hull - and the wider East Riding. Fast forward to now he cannot say the words hull city together - he has removed it from his, his family's and his employees (including Marketing) vocabulary -no one is allowed to write or talk about 'Hull City' We reached the cup final, we have the best squad we've ever had, we have the best manager and we have a bright future...and all Allam's focus and energy is on calling us Hull Tigers - or more to the point not calling us Hull City. The old bloke appears to have lost his marbles....
I can't help but get the feeling that everyone is falling wide of the mark on this one. I believe it is 100% Gerachtysaurus' fault.
A fine post. These figures do need to be verified by the club. However what seems evident is that pass sales are well down. And if we can't market the club to the people of Hull, then this global bullshit is more laughable than ever.
This present lot tell us that they are business men but if they are their marketing of this club is a bloody disgrace. How can you have the finest season in the clubs history and then so much apathy. No doubt about it, but our owners continue with this name change lunacy by trying to wipe out the Hull City name and if they don't realise they are pissing off many die hard fans then they are fools. You have to wonder what is really behind it all. All I know is that I am well and truelly pissed off by it all and I just wish they would sell up and do one.
It'll be interesting to see what figures the club disclose regarding season ticket sales. Its clear a number of factors are affecting this, seat moves, the increased price, name change issues, people holding back money for a European trip in the coming weeks, people being selective about the matches they want to attend, the list goes on! What the overall decision does say in general terms is that any expansion of the stadium at present is a complete non starter. The price increase also clearly goes against the Allams early objective of reducing gate prices to make football more affordable and 'fill' a 30k capacity stadium. Also if the club doesn't announce its sponsor within next week as advised earlier they will also be a further negative impact on replica shirt sales! The launch of the new Umbro shirt in my view is already running late!
I haven't renewed yet but only because I just haven't got around to it yet. Bizarre situation, when all the good things on the pitch are being undermined by nonsensical behaviour off it. It won't stop me going to watch and support the team I've been following for the last 45 years.
Maybe they are trying to rid the club of fans (dissenters) so that they can build the club up from scratch in their own image without resistance (we consulted the one remaining fan and he said we could do what we wanted with the club).
If only you lot had rode in on white chargers to save the club before Dr Allam did. We wouldn't have needed a chairman, or marketing experts, or thinking about it, even a manager. We have all the expertise to run a massively successful club right here on this very forum. Season tickets would be a fiver, and a walk up ticket would be a quid. Looked from above, the City of Hull would be seen as black and amber stripes, and HCC would be guests of honour at the KC every week, which of course would have a 90k capacity. Christ, I think we might not even need any expensive players either because we could get a team of local lads playing, for the pride and not the cash. Actually, thinking about it, if its so easy to run a club etc etc why don't those of you making out you're unhappy just ****ing off and setting your own up? It's your club is it? Oh yeah, that's right, you're still handing your cash over to the terrible marketing expert every week aintcha?
There's no question renewals are slower than usual. That's unusual after such a great season but the price rise and the number if disenchanted fans is significant. I, like many, have waited renew partly as I've become fed up with the off pitch issues but also with expenditures on two Wembley trips I've been saving the funds. As you say many will renew late in the next week but sales will be well down on the levels that the the team deserve after last season.
With thanks to busdrivers post off the season pass thread we already had: "I've never renewed my pass in June. Maybe when the club offered a decent discount for buying early I did but to my knowledge I cannot remember ever buying one this early without the offer of a discount to do so. Just the weak and the whiny trying to stir the **** as usual on this thread.
Thing is no one on here actually knows how many season tickets have been sold or will have been sold come august 16th. So its just lots of guess work right now. I trust all those who sing ' CITY TILL I DIE ' will be buying there season cards or didn't they mean what they sang ? People say its OUR club.....well if that's the case buy your season cards / tickets and keep going. Like him or hate him he won't be here for ever. don't let anyone DRIVE you away from supporting YOUR team . Life's to short . Maybe YOUR club need you MORE then ever ? Badges change Stadiums change Seats change Its nothing new. If I Had had my way we would have never left BP Course if prices are to high for some to re new that's sad. I can understand people NOT going because of that . Roll on the new season and I hope everyone WILL be there. Support YOUR club
