Damn, I've missed that boat then! Never used Spartak I don't think. I always used to enjoy CSKA Moscow a season or two ago, had the pace options of Doumbia and Vagner Love, with Honda pulling the strings.

Edit: I tell a lie, I'm pretty sure I can remember using the Kombarov brothers so I must have used them on at least one occasion. Maybe I did get to use his rapidity after all, but I still can't remember him!

I always felt too cheap using him! Was fun the few times I did though. I used to love using CSKA! Haven't since Honda left but yeah that was great. My current teams of choice are Braga, Sassuolo, Derby and the Mexico NT :D

I'm ashamed to say, but I hardly play much FIFA these days :(

My method of choice is one of two things. On my own (which I really hardly do now) is boring but I like it, it's Saints and only Saints. The other is on a second account I have, and that is for when I play with friends, as in friends who are over, and we play online seasons together and on the same team (this way my single player account is untainted from drunken mistakes etc!). On that we use a whole smorgasbord of teams along with Saints, Watford and other teams my friends support. For the other teams mainly go MLS, Toronto these days are very cheeky, a few choice K League teams and even plumb the depths of A League, which is actually quite fun because the teams we come up against are usually lower league English sides.

Ahh well I've got far too much free time these days, so I have nothing better to do!

That sounds pretty fun though - the second account idea is particularly clever, my records have taken batterings from thinking it's a good idea to have a couple of games after a night out. Sadly whenever I try to use ****ty A-League teams I end up not being able to find an opponent most times :( I tend to stick to playing offline games, mini tournaments and so on, when I have people over.

I've been playing FIFA today just due to having no other games which I haven't completed a thousand times. It's only ever Ultimate Team for me.

Yeah, finding opponents for 1.5/2 star teams can be a pain sometimes. What we tend to find works if we are having problems is trying the away strip (or vice versa), and to keep alternating. Usually within 2 or 3 searches it finds someone. No idea if that makes a difference or not but we like to think it does something!
I have started using Saints only on my account since the whole seasons thing came into play, but I do have most fun playing with someone else and on the same team. I can't remember the last time I actually played against someone when in the same room as them! These days my opponents are faceless strangers, most of which send messages like jajajajaja or just pure abuse when you score, win or even lose! It's a really nice feeling when you send a message after a game, saying something like "good game mate, well played", and then end up having a decent conversation.

Now that is something I have never really played. I think I tried it once when it first became a feature. The idea appeals to me so I don't know why I never stuck with it. Who do you have in your team?

The current squad I'm using is: Trapp; Matip, Naldo, Toprak; Guardado, Salihovic, Bender, Castro; John, Kießling, Herrman.

The idea is it's a Bundesliga team without any Bayern or Dortmund players, and I like to think it really annoys all the unoriginal people who just have Bayern and Dortmund players (which is most people).

I also have a Serie A team which looks something like: Marchetti; Constant, Chiellini, Ogbonna, Cuadrado; Hernanes, De Rossi, Nainggolan, in form Pandev; Sau, Higuain.

I have an in form Lallana as well but haven't built a team around him yet. If he leaves us this summer I'll sell him too!

That sounds like fun, I like the methods behind the different teams you use, especially the German non Bayern and Dortmund collective! I guess it's more akin to having a career mode but online which is a great concept. The time I did try it, I opened the free pack I got and the players were terrible! I didn't even realise you could have more than one team.

Now what is this in form business all about as I have frequently heard of it before. And you trade players on a marketplace or something like that don't you?

You have to start with a terrible team, but every time you play a game the coins you earn can buy you a better player. My first pack gave me Zarate and Stocker and then a bunch of crap.

An in-form basically has some boosted attributes and therefore is far more expensive. And yeah, there is a marketplace and values are determined purely by supply and demand. I could sell my IF Lallana for around 30000 coins. To contrast, my Higuain only cost about 1000. Per game you tend to make between 200 and 600 coins, depending on how well you played. As that shows you, it doesn't take long to get some good players in, but IFs cost stupid money.

Cheers for explaining, that sounds interesting and like you say, you can build up a team in no time at all except for those in form gems. The pack I can remember opening didn't have people of Zarate and Stocker standard that's for sure! A bit of wheeler dealer action adds a whole different aspect to the game.

I may have to give it a proper go then, a team of favorite ex-Saints or something could be fun!

And a legend Pele costs £1000 and you only keep it for a season.

I've never bothered with ultimate team. Too many times when I tried, I either came up against a team filled with Messis and Ronaldos, or I come up against a team full of 95 pace players. I like Seasons because then I can play with teams I like in real life, and the teams you come up against are far more balanced.

Ah but there's no better feeling than beating those pace whores with a clearly worse team.
