Huddlestone? I don't think we overpaid on him.

    Knobhead

    Quality = Investment.

I'm looking forward to Flathead squirming in front of the cameras.

We definitely got Huddlestone on the cheap.

If we've paid £6m for Livermore, then we've paid top dollar but only just, I'd expect to pay £4-5m for him.

    If we've agreed £8m, then we've overpaid.

He could cost £8m with addons that mean he's been worth £8m to us. I can't see Brucey giving the thumbs up to such an outlay if it was up front or based on criteria he's obviously going to meet, like 30 appearances or whatever because that cash would fill two positions for us this season, also there's some real quality out on the market at that price which would be more beneficial than Jake Livermore.

Regardless what the press say, I think we can rest assured it won't be anything like that, but if it is Brucey must have been given a treasure chest to work with this season because with the numbers and quality we need to add with the reported £20m ish budget we can't afford to go spending that on one player unless they're gonna tear up the league.

Nani was supposed to be on his way out of Manchester, I know he'd never come here but I bet that's the sort of price tag he'd command.

The fees are all press speculation anyway, so we are unlikely to know the exact amount unless the fee is disclosed. If it's undisclosed we'll all be none the wiser.

If we go by the signings of Hudd, Jelly and Long its reasonable to assume any add-ons are dependent on avoiding relegation.

If some of the fee is add-ons that basically saying "if he helps us achieve 'this' then he's worth some more, but at the moment he's worth 'this' to us" which is the best thing for a club in our position to do! Very happy with the transfer.

selling a player like Livermore because of relegation and losing say £1-1.5 million wouldn't be bad overall business compared to a loan move ,
So on that i think Livermore fits within the balance sheet .

Do we have to keep within a transfer limit of sorts now we are in Europa league ? or is it still quite flexible

Only if we plan on bringing the Europa league next season as well, or the champions league. No restrictions for us this season.

With Livermore a lot depends on what the price is made up of, basic price plus add on, and whatever these added on's are, as well as wages.

England call ups?? If Gerrard retires, which he may and should, Fat Frank too. Cleverleys not going to step up. Hendersons not convinced any of us, what other English centre midfield players are out there?

There must be a good chance on Hudd and Jake getting a call up next season.

Can't believe we are signing him without asking CTWD for their permission first!

Even if it's £8 million I think he is worth that to us as with him and Huddz in the team we always have a fighting chance in the division as they are probably England class if there was a proper manager there to pick them
