Bloody lucky Argentina. Messi produces a moment of magic to deny Iran a point.

With Messi, Ronaldo, or Suarez in your team - these things happen. They simply make the difference.

Quality goal. Maybe, just maybe this is Messi's World Cup and could lead them to win it. Maradonna style.

Shows what a difference a genuine World Class player can make. Team playing badly, opposition stubborn, game going nowhere and then your superstar does whats needed to win.
Reason why England never go very far, no genuine World Class players. Just over hyped potential that rarely fulfils.

i must say for the past 12-18 months messi has got more and more lazy... he's got the class as always but his movement has become very poor. he does so much standing round basically waiting for the ball to be delivered.

Klose equals the record with his first touch. One of the best poachers the game has produced.

  8. Complete bollox. Twelve months ago he was on fire and even C.Ronaldo couldn't touch him. He's only been "poor" in the last six months after injury. Maybe being reserved with the World Cup in mind? He's not been great in the World Cup so far but he did pull a rabbit out the bag today.

If you look at some of the stats he's really not been travelling the distance and you are right it probably is injury related. But he isn't moving and so is easier to mark

That goal... The defender stood 5 yards off

When he gets it he comes alive and doesn't look like he lost anything but when the ball is elsewhere he is static as f

  10. He's always stood still and waiting for the ball. His ability to keep the ball thats so impressive. He does help his team out too but I agree this as dropped but as I suggested, I think its due to injury and only in the last six months

Nah let's google some stats here

Maybe it is only last six months but today he was static and it's the World Cup, sure save some for next rounds but you gotta win first

So what I found was approx messi does 80% of normal 10-12km work rate others would do but v athletico it stood out as 6.4km which is 50% of what a player should be expected to do at the highest level games

Would love to see World Cup distanced travelled v Bosnia

Should be 10km by rights bet it's low
