You'd better get used to it Andy, this is the Premier league. To be fair weve picked up some great bargains, Davies, Huddlestone ect.
Davies? Yes. Huddlestone? I'd have said that you overpaid for him, too. I think Spurs are laughing that you've spent £12m for the pair.
I'm not saying that they're bad players, they're good players in fact. But I think that you could have got both for cheaper, much cheaper. They knew that you needed those players desperately and they knew that you have money.
Exactly. You'll be subject to the same if and when NP wants to buy quality. Huddlestone was a (relative) bargain though.
Apparently we are. Brighton have rejected bids of up to 6m for Ulloa apparently. We've told them to do one of course.
Ulloa looks good but he's unproven at this level. Huddlestone is a player of proven quality. Not scoring points here with you but you've little chance of getting a midfield pair of the quality of TH&JL for 12m this season.
I'm happy with what we've got. Unless Nige decides to go with a midfield 3 in which case we'll need a midfield enforcer (which does seem to be the case - going by the rumours). For 12m. I think we could easily find a midfield to compete with yours. Interesting stat I saw yesterday. Drinkwater made about 1.5k successful passes in the opposition half last season, the next nearest managed ~500 less. I genuinely think he'll be in England contention in a couple of years time.
Putting us getting fleeced aside, it's good to see that is time round we not only have a manager who is capable of targeting and attracting proven premier league quality players with good years ahead of them, but also an owner who is willing to tow the party line and open the cheque book to bring them here. In stark contrast to last time. Putting aside all the off field nonsense we are in very good hands, if we can keep both parties here and interested we are sure for good times in years to come. Long may it continue. Next season we might be talking about overspending £25m for Lukaku.
