I've a. Brother teaches out in shanghai and he just took another years contract. Thinking of going out next year some time around January when they're off. Just for the experience really. Any you ****s been? Think MonoTaig has.
I have been teaching in China for a few years now, it is a great place in my opinion. January can be very unpleasant here, Shanghai in winter is particularly cold, but if you wait for the summer you may think too hot, (today was a pleasant 30C). Gets up into the 40's July and August. For places to visit, many people come here and only see Shanghai and Beijing, they are both good cities to visit. There is so much more to see here but the size of the country means lots of travelling, the train system over here is very good, can get crowded but very cheap.
Was thinking January cos he gets the month off, how cold are we talking? Are you teaching English as a foreign language?
Don't think so, my Bro is shagging like f**k. Different culture towards the swally, few and far between aparantly
January average temperature is about or just above freezing, on a bad day it could get to about -10. Yes, I am teaching EFL, mostly preparing students for IELTS, so they can go to university overseas.
Just like anywhere you get some people hate any foreigners, most of the locals here are very friendly. They hate the Japanese here and maybe they have a different attitude towards foreigners in Japan.
I am working for a company called AEF, they are based in Dalian (in NE China). Two other foreign teachers here one US and one from Canada. Used to work for an agency, but many of them charge schools too much and pay little.
I am just finishing up in a school in Guiyang, Guizhou province in the next few weeks. Next term I am moving to Jiangxi province, to Jiujiang city.
