CTWD have never slated the Allam's, they've merely questioned some of their decisions while also being supportive of their ownership. There needs to be a name change happening, for an anti-name change group to exist, so CTWD obviously can't be blamed for creating this situation.
I look forward to you posting examples of CTWD hypocrisy. We're not perfect and we haven't done some things as well as we possibly could, but I don't believe hypocrisy figures high on the list of our failings.
IF no one likes how the clubs run, don't ****ing go. Why add to his P&L sheet? call me all the names under the sun for not going but at least I aren't a ****ing scab.
OLM - Why does the fans need to be consulted, I can only think of Everton of late in which fans was well against the change. At the end of the day CTWD are making something out of nothing, ok so say the Allams did consult the fans/public, it would be a total waste of time as many will like it because it's similar to what we have had many years ago, some will want it looking how they want it and others won't agree etc. It's ok having consultation if you're going to get a decent result but come on lets be honest... it would have just left a lot of people dissatisfied. CTWD need to grow up and stop biting on everything.. Whats next, Dr Allam doesn't consult Hull city fans and CTWD on buying the HU11 T1G registration plate?? CTWD grow up and put your efforts in to supporting the club rather than sniping Dr Allam on every decision he makes.
I can show some, I can, I can. Look, look it's a done deal, done deal, done deal. "What the fans should be interested in - I will never change the colour, I will never change the logo, I will never remove Hull, I will never remove Tigers. These words were there for many years. The colour of the club, amber and black, is there. The logo is there. That's for the fans and I will never change this without consulting the fans." AA, 5Live Nov 2013 "Have I ever said something and went back on it? No." AA, Sky Sports 2014 Oh no, sorry that's not CTWD's hypocrisy it's AA's but still, it's a done deal.
If you don't go, then by definition, you can't be a scab. We've had more than our fair share of terrible owners, the Allam's are nowhere near the top of the list and none of them have ever stopped me supporting my club before, none ever will. I was at Hull City games long before Assem Allam and I'll be at Hull City games long after him.
It's a member's group. Silly question, but are you a member? Of course you are, but are you also a member of CTWD?
CTWD are not telling you what to accept. They are representing their members. Even if they were doing what you said your example would not in effect make them hypocrites. A hypocrite would tell you that you should not buy season tickets because of the name change and then go buy season tickets. CTWD has never advocated fans refusing to buy season tickets. Here is the actual definition for you. hyp·o·crite [hip-uh-krit] noun 1. a person who pretends to have virtues, moral or religious beliefs, principles, etc., that he or she does not actually possess, especially a person whose actions belie stated beliefs. 2. a person who feigns some desirable or publicly approved attitude, especially one whose private life, opinions, or statements belie his or her public statements.
The Premier league Rules say that stakeholders, which includes fans, should be consulted over major changes. I think changing the badge by dropping our name counts as a major change. Second the club said we would be consulted, then changed its mind.
Our owners made a commitment, they said they wouldn't change the badge without fan consultation, but they've reneged on that commitment. I don't expect them to consult the fans on everything, that would be ridiculous, they own the club and the day to day running of their business is down to them. I do though, expect them to be good to their word and honour the commitments that they make. I expect them to consult fans on fundamental issues, such as the club name, the club colours and the club badge. I'm an old fashioned Yorkshireman, my word is my bond and I expect the same of others.
Rather than just being a WUM why not take ten mins out if your busy schedule, read the CTWD statements on their open, public website and then come back and try explain where they have done anything other than support Hull City fans , and the Allams ownership. Thanks!
As Ben has said, we're a members organisation, you will have to join to attend a meeting. Just go to citytillwedie.com to join. We listen to all points raised at our meetings, though if you get abusive, our rules allow for me to glass you.
Every City fan thinks this way, it's been said enough times and personally i'm sick of hearing it. This doesn't give him a mandate to completely strip our great Club of it's identity. I personally wish he'd sell the Club and **** off because I don't trust him.
I am not a CTWD supporter. I respect their aims but I would never join the group. I have taken issue with CTWD on many things. Ehab and Assem Allam gave their word and I do not give a toss if it was about the club badge, the price of the pies or whatever. They gave their word and they broke it. It is as simple as that for me. They have made a great issue about their word and how once given they will not go back on it. But they did and that for me makes them untrustworthy. Think what you want but any man who states that he does not go back on his word and then does is morally corrupt.
