When AVB took over Spurs I thought he could take them to the title if given a few years. But then Levy and Baldini started signing players behind his back and stopping him from bringing in his players. Levy shot himself in the foot.
I don't want AVB- he's had chances at two big clubs- and both clubs did terrible (compared with expectations). Until he has a single successful stint as manager of a club- he's not ready... even if the blame can partially be cordoned off onto others.
As for Mourinho... without the ability to sign the best and brightest headlining talent from other clubs- I don't rate him as amongst the best... good, but not amongst the best. Besides... SAF, as good as he is would be a bitter pill... Jose is easily the most obnoxious person in football.
Capello may have had a high win % but moyes had a higher win % than fergie (might not have been at the end).
Club and International management are different. I think AVB takes 0-10% of the blame for Spurs season.

Capellos england were so dull. He never took risks, always played the same useless players and national pride was very low. Hodgeson has at least tried something different. Sure he was persuaded into it but he did and lets be honest, whos hoped were not raised after italy? The future looks almost bright.
