I'm not sure that Woy should be shot tbh. I'm not a massive England fan, but I have to say that in this competition despite what is abject failure i.e. 2 defeats. I've actually enjoyed the football and have felt that the players have given their all for the shirt. We've been a bit unlucky is the truth of it and both games could have turned out different if we'd had the rub of the green. That certainly wasn't the case in 2010 and has been lacking for me since the peak of '96. I think they've improved under Hodgson, at least we had a go! So I wouldn't have an issue with him staying until the Euro's as otherwise we just go back to the start yet again.
Not when the keeper kicked it, but he was when Cavanni / Gerrard competed for the ball, he was a good yard plus off
Hang on I though cavani never got anywhere near it according to you earlier now they competed? It's all Martinez fault for not playing route one enough so jag would be able to mark cavani properly Is there anyone else to randomly blame seeing it seems saying all 3 involved could do better is satisfying no-one Perhaps it's Phil jones fault on the sideline looking so ugly that Gerrard had to look the other way? I know it's cleverly and carricks fault for being so terrible they didn't even make the plane
So quote from post #454 - Quote Originally Posted by Tobes View Post If Cavanni doesn't touch the ball he's still offside ffs. The Germans have escaped any hand in it so far, which is most unusual. I hope Italy don't tonk Costa Rica tonight, as we'll be in for another dose of disappointment on Tuesday, after having a glimmer of hope for another 4 days ffs.
We were much better under Fabio... and Sven. At least with those managers we showed up to tournaments with a dream. Woy takes over- his first tournie was absolute shiite and he has the nerve to say "we played well" after getting smashed. We were much better under previous managers... we didn't have this "we're defeated before we begin" attitude going into tournaments before Woy. Woy has done to England what he tried to do with Liverpool. He tried to justify being crap by saying we should lower our expectations. England lowered its expectations and is living up to them. The human resources Woy has available to him isn't vastly different in quality to what previous managers had- he's just an old, useless, past-it, manager, who has had a couple of good runs with previous teams (and many more disasterous runs with other teams). Woy has spent too much time managing minnows in Scandinavia and the hinterlands of English football- that he has this small fish mentality when managing anyone bigger. Woy is nowhere near good enough for England. After how crap he was for UAE, and the worst manager in history for Finland- why did we think he was good enough for England? If he's not good enough to manage the UAE he certainly isn't good enough to manage England! Also- Woy's history shows that his best season with any team is usually his first season with that team. If we replace "season" with "tournament"- I think we can see that-that is true for his England experience too. We quite likely won't qualify for the next Euros if we keep Woy in charge.
I've already covered that thanks, as he was never going to get the ball direct from the keepers kick given he was another 20 yards beyond where it was dropping Not as wrong as not knowing the difference between a goal kick and a kick out either eh mate.....
We were absolute **** under Dennis the Menace mate. Sven yes in terms of grinding out results, but the football was largely pish
I have decided that Man City and Chelsea are to blame. The two richest English clubs have contributed 4 players to the squad between them (one of whom is Lampard and is likely to leave the chavs). With all their money they should be doing more to promote their own homegrown talents, instead of buying a £32million donkey. Also going to blame Glen Johnson for being **** and apparently being the only English Right Back in the world. And finally Woy, for being ****ter than Johnson.
With Fabio we won all our pre-world cup friendlies. We qualified from our World Cup group. We were undefeated in Euro Cup qualifiers. With Woy- we struggle in our European matches, were at risk of not qualifying for World Cup, lose all our World Cup group games. How is Woy better than Fabio? Fabio much better than Woy... probably best manager in a long time England has had. FA were in the wrong to piss him off and make him leave us. We would have had a shot at the last Euros with Fabio managing... maybe even won... and we would more than likely have qualified from our group this tournament. Sven may have played negative football at times- but he consistently got us further in international tournaments- and it always took penalties to beat us.
Nope. English players should go abroad. Get more diverse influence in to our team. At least on loan, instead of playing in lower league or not playing at all.
Capello's only mistake was OTT discipline at the World Cup. The players were bored and stressed out, some some rebelled.
Woy: Worst Liverpool manager I've witnessed in my lifetime. Worst England manager I've witnesses in my lifetime.
You're right. He was never offside, because when the last Uruguay player to touch the ball [goalie] kicked it, he was played onside by Cahill and that's the only moment in time that counts - where Suarez was when the goalie kicked it, and he was onside. Cavani never touched the ball - if he had then we have a different scenario. To say If Cavanni doesn't touch the ball he's still offside is just wrong. Otherwise you have to explain what facts make Suarez offside and there aren't any.
I agree with that as well. But also think part of club football is to produce your own players so that you don't have to go out and spend ridiculous amounts of money (and to generate money through sales if need be). The massive amounts of money behind those two mean they can virtually ignore this and have a couple of token players to adhere to registration rules.
LMAO... I completely forgot about Steve McClaren. No coma... just selective amnesia. Ok Woy! SECOND worst England manager in my lifetime.
