But Shaw has NEVER played RB. If anything, that could be worse than Johnson, as he is out of position. RB for RB. Having someone with 0% experience there is idiotic.
Is this you admitting you were wrong? Not sure where I directly called you an idiot either. I said playing someone with 0% experience in a certain position is idiotic. Are you going to give me a decent counter argument now?
We had Richards, Walker and Johnson all competing for that RB slot since G Neville gave up the position. Richards I believe was the most capable but he disappeared at Citeh. One for the future is obviously Kieran Trippier at Burnley. It'll be very interesting to see how he gets on in the Prem next year, he's only 23 and has huge potential.
But they are t there are they and it's always we've got good players coming through Golden generation that never materialises. And I don't believe it will either
A front of ---------Wilshere Henderson ------Ox------Barkley-----Sterling ---------------Sturridge That's a front 6 that's got at least another 6 years or 2 tournaments together. All are clearly talented but they need to gel, be a team. Invest in them now, start them in the Euro qualifiers and let them grow into a team for the tournaments.
Wilt shires not gonna be an ever present with his injuries It's the back 5 that's gonna take some work Cahils defo good enough Shaw as well
Long term I don't you've misinterpreted what I was getting at I was on about this World Cup with the lack of right backs If Kyle Walker had been fit id have put him in
I think its time the likes of Gerrard and Lampard retire from international football. Barkley, Lallana, Shaw, Wilshere, Henderson, Sterling, Oxlade-Chamberlain and Sturridge are England's future. This World Cup was never going to be England's moment of glory, the Euros in 2016 is a more realistic target and if we qualify I think we will do quite well.
We are so bereft of English players and managers due to the dilution of foreign talent into our game that we are not good enough to be classed as a top footballing nation any more. The footballing authorities have bowed down to TV and now with the money TV companies pour into the game it is enabling this foreign talent to prosper and whilst good for the TV watching fraternity our English footballing quality has plummeted, and will continue to do so. We haven't had a convincing win or even performance on the International Stage for many a year.
I am not convinced at all that part of your problem is foreign managers or foreign players doing something to your talent. You have multiple leagues full of English players, leagues full of English managers. I dont see at all how foreign players coming in effects anything. Taking a mediocre player and making him a starter in the PL isnt going to turn that same player into an amazing player. Clearly a players future is determined long before he becomes a pro. The US league is full of ****ty American managers, and ****ty American players. We have a ****ty league with only a few teams that could avoid relegation in the Championship. How many of our players would you want on the English national team? How many would you even want on the bench? Yet we are on the upswing and have a decent chance at getting out of the group stages again. Not that Fifa rankings mean much but we have even been ranked higher than you recently. There is something else wrong with the English national team right now. But it has nothing to do with foreign players.
It does, Premier League teams are partly to blame. Southampton are the only team in the Premier League producing talented Englishmen straight from their academy consistently. Lallana, Shaw, Ward-Prowse and Chambers all came from Southampton's brilliant academy. Also, they buy other talented English players like Rodriguez, Clyne and Cork and make them better. The likes of Man City and Chelsea just shell out enormous sums for foreign players and they don't produce decent English talent from their academy to balance it out. Just look at our academy, why aren't players like Max Clark and Conor Townsend breaking into the first team? English football needs massive reforms.
