Anyone ever been? It's not as bad as you think. I mean it's pretty gay, with no murders or rapes or anything like that, but the buses run on time and there's plenty of green space, etc.
Yeah the TT is fun, apart from motorbike loving ****s on some sort of pilgrimage, revving around the place all day and night.
I think you should give it a go - lots of fields and **** for you hippy ****s to get in touch with nature, and some cracking scenary https://www.google.com/maps/@54.272...ata=!3m4!1e1!3m2!1sz9SQ1tUGuK0tInXwqiAelQ!2e0
Guy Martin is my new sporting hero. Sort of like a motorised AP McCoy, only about 10 times more mental. One of the stewards describing his crash said "I saw this huge fireball coming toward me, and out of the middle of it came Guy, minus his bike". **** was back riding the next year.
No poor people for you to save, unfortunately, it's a pretty wealthy island, so I don't think anyone really needs your help.
I've been to Lough Neah.... Does that count? It's where the Isle of Man used to be until Fionn Mac Cumhaill got his hands on it.
You'd like the Isle of Man - they've Gaelicised the place up rightly, my kids are even getting pretty decent at the Manx language from school, after their first year. please log in to view this image
Are there a lot of non-indigenous Manx people, Mick? We met some on holiday and I'm sure they weren't born there. They were Crystal Palace fans and not weird.
I've been to Ballymoney <shudder> Mind you, Cork is twinned with San Francisco and Coventry... Is Manx compulsory in school?
Out of my office of about 30 people there's one native Manx person - we're all filthy immigrant come-overs. They sent a form home asking would we allow the teaching of Manx. There's a bit of debate about whether or not learning an almost dead language is useless - but I think learning the structure of any other language trains the brain well for dealing with further new languages. I know quite a few Maltese who can speak 5 or 6 languages because they grew up with Maltese, English and Italian at home - and I know they had the same debate at one point about whether or not they should just let the Maltese language die. So aye, at very worst I think it does no harm.
