I wouldn't be upset to get Pelle. Van Gaal signed him and got nothing out of him, in the short time Koeman had him at AZ, he didn't do much better, but he had faith in him and got the best out of him later at Feyenoord.

 

To be honest I'm not overly concerned by rumours of Immers and Pelle.

Presumably the club will maintain their approach to transfers whereby they will already have identified areas in need of strengthening and present Koeman with targets rather than let him have final say. Certainly the way the club portray transfers as being based on extensive scouting and by committee would seem to suggest it's not just a knee jerk reaction of 'our new manager managed him before and wants to bring him here', but that there is some groundwork that has been done which would show that a certain player could be a success at the club.

So, if Immers and/or Pelle are signed by the club I would expect that the club would have thought they would a) have the skills required to be a success in the EPL and b) fit in with the culture of the club (and not do an Osvaldo).

 

I'd bite your hand off; not sure they'd come though.

 

Being cheeky we could even ask for £5m as well. Shaw is valued at £27m, Fallaini £12m & Hernandez £10m. Agree it's a bit of a long shot, but not sure than any Champion's League teams would want either and unless they go abroad it's not totally out of the question.

 

I can't see many player exchanges with big clubs happening due to the disparity in wages as most players with the top six or seven will be earning significantly more than the maximum figure within the Saints pay structure

 

I see what you mean, but I'd even give them £5m to get that through.

 

Saints need to buy that Costa Rica keeper.

 

I thought the Chilean keeper [C. Bravo] was worth a bid or two.

I really would like us to sign Welbeck and push Rodriguez further up.
I think in our team and with less expectation he could turn in to a very good player indeed.

 

Will never happen.

 

So do I. There is another scenario though and that is that Welbeck may consider that he's reached the heights and will never be as good again. That's an attitude I'd like to avoid. Never the less, he'd be a good catch, in my opinion.

 

If we could attract Welbeck it would only be to play as the main striker.

According to Hull Mail, their search for central defender continues as Fonte expected to sign new contract at Saints. No link as on someone's tablet. No more info than above anyway.

Absolutely

 

Wellbeck will never leave Utd - he is an academy product and Utd through and through. I mean come on, if you had been with your boyhood club all your life would you leave? Oh hang on, if you go away with England you get tapped up by other players...
