Managed to avoid sticking my oar into American politics/laws though. Except the drinking age one, that is stupid.

 

Ibrahim Toure, brother of Yaya and Kolo has died at the age of 28.

 

So you know I was talking a little while back about this new girl, 18, that I was managing who is pretty damn extraordinary (I may be biased but I'm not the only one thinking it). She's done a track on the new Orbital album, is in the studio this week recording her debut, and we'll be launching her properly next month. She's called Fable and this is her.

Haha, no pressure! She's different from what's out there, I can assure you of that.

 

That sounds a lot more exciting than what I'm doing! I'll keep an eye/ear out for her.

 

It's usually slowly, slowly with these things, so don't expect big things straight away. If that does happen, then I might be on here an awful lot less!

What will we be hearing first, her own stuff or the Orbital track?

 

Putting one of her own tracks out next week, just on Soundcloud. Then she's going out live. Orbital album is out in the Autumn.

Can someone explain to me the purpose of a retweet on Twitter, the #saints site has been a total waste of time this morning as it is clogged with hundreds of retweets and it is difficult to find any original news at all?

 

Hard to categorise really. She's writing and recording the album with a band called Archive, so there's some of that DNA in it, but it's more accessible than a lot of Archive's stuff. It's quite dark and moody, lyrics are amazing, but you can still sing along! Ish!

 

It's basically just like saying to all your followers "hey look at this tweet I saw".

 

Sounds like the kind of stuff I'd like. I'm excited!

 

Hope so! We're hoping it will strike a chord with the younger market who are more into sitting in a dark room disliking their parents and don't want to listen to Miley or One Direction, but also it's musically accomplished enough to appeal to the older and more discerning listener. Certainly not pop, it's very cool. Not perhaps an instant listen job - takes a couple of listens to "get" it.

 

Why though? A simple PM could do that!
