I was referring to Suarez being brilliant over all. his finishes were very good. he shouldn't have had the chances though.
The second goal was unfortunate and you can lay blame on Gerrard if that makes you feel better but suggesting the first goal is a Gerrard gift is just childish.
exactly. childish. At least most lfc fans are calling it like it is. I can't even say who gerrard palyed as the children want to say he fired both goals in. at least we are saying the others played badly. I eman its about time actually we stopped being fair to rooney really. UiR might no longer deserve any reasonableness on that.
England have missed Cole on the left. Good for his club though he is, Baines has too little experience of tournament and International football. Did RH drop Cole for Shaw, big mistake.
Liverpool fans are being blinded by club loyalty. everyone else is calling it as it was. Have a look around, nobody is blaming anyone but Gerrard and that includes gerrard himself.
Ashley Cole had played 7 games since January, because he was being kept out of the Chelsea side by a right back.... Baines lack of tournament appearances is absolute bunkum, as 6 of the starting XI didn't have any tournament experience. He did well last night anyway.
Why didnt Cahill at least slide Suarez to try and block the shot? On the first goal Jag jumps for the header but misses it, very similar to Gerrard Rooney misses a great chance Wheres all their criticism?? Our whole def couldve been better including Gerrard
Probably barcause it was Suarez he didn't want to give away a penalty. Better than doing nothing though
Suarez caused us all our problems. The goals, his corners. Apart from that Uruguay parked the bus for most of the game. Godin should have been sent off, and it was unacceptable that he wasnt, and we should have taken our chances better.
England don't chase down the ball when they lose it. The odd player might but unless they do it as a team it's meaningless. Brazil don't do it and they've been poor, Spain didn't do it and they're out
Danny Mills BBC Radio 5 live 'No defensive shape or organisation' Uruguay 2-1 England Posted at 11:13 "Sadly, it's not been good enough. It's the same old things we have talked about. It's a lack of composure under pressure and an inability to keep the ball. "Defensively, we have not been good enough. Against Italy, we were caught out by a short corner for the first goal. For the second goal, Baines dived in and Balotelli moved off Cahill. "Against Uruguay, it was almost the same. Johnson doesn't get tight enough to the cross and Suarez moves off Jagielka. The second goal was shocking, it was a flick-on from Gerrard, there was nothing he could do, but Baines, Jagielka and Cahill were all over the shop. There was no defensive shape or organisation at all."
