Genji, For the next race do you want to have a Guest revealer again like we did with DHCanary this time round? It would keep things fresh for other peoples ideas of 'evil' revealing
Yeah I think it worked brilliantly until you and DHC both buggered off just before the final deadline. I'll probably stay out of the driver picks from now on unless we have a shortage of members playing so can you send me the list before the deadline (i.e. before bartering begins) just as a backup?
10 points each from FP2 go to: Mifune (Alonso) WestCoastBoogaloo (Schumacher) jerseymackem (Barrichello) Mclarwum (Ferrari) So Fred and Mifune have both benefited from swapping their drivers.
instead of giving teams, just redo the drivers, otherwise there will be tactical waiting, as it's obviously better to have a whole team than 1 of their drivers. It doesn't matter if 2 people end up with the same driver as they probably won't the following week. It also gives scope for further expansion if it gets more popular. spoils the revealing, but, tbh, how many ways are we gonna come up with clues for liuzzi, alguersuari, cosicove etc. keep it going for sure
Yeah because Mclarwum came late and got Ferrari which will just be a walkover and Silverarrow entered in time for a driver and got Karthikeyan, so as Miggins said people might just try for a team instead because you have got a much better chance in scoring points. Although I can not really speak because I missed it last time and picked up the bogey options and scored 50 points.
I have 5 or 6, but you need 13, for everyone. I like it, don't get me wrong, but how long can we keep it up without repeating clues?
How about teams get X/(13-n) points but make it an integer. When n is the amount of people with a team. And X is the number of points available. May be a bit complicated but idk
To be honest I thought the tactical aspect of waiting to pick a team was a positive but we haven't got enough regular players to justify it. I really like having teams in it somewhere though, and the WCC points angle (the team that gets the most race points wins above the team that finishes higher). The other thing is that if latecomers get to choose drivers then we can't realistically have bartering because we have to give the latecomers the chance to pick right up until Thursday night/Friday morning. Here are some options then: Drivers numbered 1-24 only, latecomers get nothing Drivers numbered 1-24, teams get letters A-X (two letters each), as per Canada, latecomers get nothing Drivers numbered 1-24, teams get letters A-L, as per Valencia, latecomers get letters Drivers numbered 1-48 (two numbers each), pick 1-24 first and when they're gone latecomers get numbers 25-48, no teams Drivers numbered 1-24 , once they're gone latecomers pick their own numbers 1-24, no bartering and reveals on Thursday evening
How about a variation of what we are doing for Valencia, i.e we all pick a number for a driver as per norm and the latecomers can pick a letter for a team but the amount of latecomers dictate how many teams are available, such as if as in this round only three people pick letters then the teams available are restricted to only a certain tier so you do not get the situation that one person gets top team and the others get a lower team that stand no chance of winning. I do understand that this will require a reshuffle of the letter allocation for the teams but could easily be impartially done. ps. I like the four tier idea, but I think that should be it, no team mate scoring because I do not think everyone should be a winner because that could cause some of the fun to be lost.
Sod it, that'll do. That's quite nice, actually. Instead of randomly assigning the letters A-L to teams the mods can assign them to the numbers 1-12. Latecomers pick a letter and the mods convert those letters into numbers. The person with the highest number gets the team that's bottom of the WCC standings. The one with the second-highest number gets the team second from bottom, third-highest gets third from bottom, etc. No extra work for mods reshuffling and we'll go with the bottom team upwards to generate interest in the back of the field. Five or fewer latecomers we'll just use one tier. Six to eight latecomers we'll split into two tiers. Nine or more then we'll have three tiers. Howzat?
