http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/...s/cardiff-city-chairman-mehmet-dalman-7296238 Fat chance. http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/gary-medels-world-cup-success-7297041 Easy to say in hindsight.
Have a good one Sparks - away from the madness that exists on here from time to time. Come back fit and refreshed for the new season. Hope you get your pre-season training in whilst away.
cheers sparks>>>>>did you want a new thread or wasn't the dumping ground and piss take out of dai thread good enough for you.....myself thought it was the perfect place 2 chuck in a bit of info for the racist jack who doesn't like arabs just because they got a different culture 2 ours. ok I`ll not post of the bullying thread from now on you`ll get a thread for anything I care 2 post>>>>>>>>>one thing you wont get me doing is talking about who should be in the team or what stats we can pull up for justifying why we lost or how we won, im far from being a train spotter type for footy because it bores me 2 death gone.
medel hasnt got the height to be a premier league centre back. OGS would have got dogs abuse for playing him there if he didn't perform out of his skin, so agree there. his release clause will be close to the fee we paid for him, but as i said before, its academic as he will go for a lot less than any release clause…...
I've actually got onto the net!!!!!!!.............sorry about that....... aber pal - I've got no problem with you posting what you like within the rules of the forum - you'll know I've backed you in the past when others were wielding the axe. As far as the content of this forum is concerned, strangely enough it happens to be about Cardiff City FC and everything that concerns the club. If that isn't for you as you seem to say, then fair enough. Just post the political and moral stuff you want to and I'm sure those who want to join in will do so. Apologies to those on the thread that wanted to discuss Cardiff City FC matters.
Back to footie. Everyone supporting Chile now? Got to have a team to follow otherwise not worth bothering. I would love to see Chile v Uruguay if only to watch the Medel v Suarez battle. Could be carnage on the footie field.
It comes to picking players to fit a game plan or picking a game plan to suit the players. Not sure we played to Medel's strengths last year and not sure of the game plan(s) Ole has up his sleeve for next. We seemed unbalanced and unless we see significant changes in personnel in the next few weeks, I don't see that balance for next year. Medel fits in a back 3/5 or sat just in front of the back 4 in a 4141. If we're playing 2 up top (with all the strikers we have that will be the minimum) leaving 4 in the middle, I'm not sure where he fits or what 3 play with him. If we play 433/451, we're still crying out for a couple of wide men. Saying that, if we play 442 we still need a couple wide men.
When the defence was really under the pump last season, it may have been worth playing Medel next to Calulker. The issue though was the ball was coming in from out wide too easily and too often. Noone always annoyed me because he did not or could not do enough defensively and our full backs always struggled. Teams just went around Medel in the end. If Ole does follow Ferguson's advice (and apparently they talk a lot), people may be interested in how Ferguson manager United in his last season. http://eplindex.com/20573/footballing-philosophy-201213-sir-alex-ferguson.html
Chile will do a job on the Cloggies tonight. Remember where you heard it first. A big thank you to that Portuguese idiot who scored in the 5th minute of added time, bugger let me down for a treble.
Just read and article that has Medel in a list of "Players who reserve their best performances for their nations." Known as “The Pitbull” for his determined displays, Cardiff City midfielder Gary Medel failed to live up to his significant price tag last season as the Bluebirds were relegated from the Premier League. For his national team, Chile, however, Medel is a ball-playing centre back who was vital to their shock World Cup win over Spain.
he certainly was not a pitbull for us…. maybe he is a player who looks much better in a better team, who knows…..
The World Cup has most definitely upped his value. Fingers crossed we get a nice healthy sum for him. Cannot see him staying after having a good tournament.
