We'll agree to disagree on this one Spark. I could counter your point about Wiffle taking the article off track by saying you were the one who diverted back into anti Malky mode without need. No problem.
Certainly did not divert it into anti Malky mode. I pointed out that any increased perceived value in Medel through him playing particularly well in this World Cup was unlikely to benefit the club as a result of a release clause figure written into his contract. Now we don't really know if there is one, or if there is just exactly what amount it would take to trigger it. I pointed out that I hoped it wasn't set too low like the Campbell one, and should certainly not have been for any less than we paid Sevilla for him. If that were to be the case, then those that drew up and agreed to the contract at the time were the only ones responsible.
Whiffle - by telling me to "change the record" you are indeed implying that I was out of order and shouldn't air my views, viz. "slagging off" someone who disagrees with you.
Why is this ludicrous? I would say a release clause of more or less the same or slightly more than you paid is about right. This I agree with: and this :
What has Campbell's release clause figure got to do with the low fee agreed by Sunderland for him? That's a separate matter altogether between the two clubs and nothing to do with Campbell's contract conditions with us - the two matters are completely unrelated. He got what his advisers wanted - a way back into the big time for next to nothing if it didn't work out at Cardiff. I can also understand why you agree with posts that agree with you.
the lad done a brilliant job lastnight by all accounts.....very well done 2 him and his team mates lets hope we get a good price for him if he shows well for the rest of this tournament hey.
seems like the sun is getting 2 some on here......fking chill out lads stop posting negative energy init. life`s like a box of chocolates claimed old forrest and do you know what I think he`s fking right
Well chilled here aber. Just enjoying a discussion about football on the thread as opposed to one about Blair and Iraq elsewhere. Give me a good debate about our football club on this forum anytime.
"reluctant to accept the possibility that he wasn't really the Messiah" Just a very naughty boy!!!! Sorry, couldn't resist. We haven't had a Python quote for ages. Coat?
I hope 'el poodle' and his team go a long way in the tournament. It might just trigger an auction for his services.
fill your boots with football sparks I suppose that's all you have 2 look forward 2>>>>myself I have 2 young uns and I don't want them growing up with any less liberties than I.......but there you go it seems im not supposed 2 talk about anything other than the mindless game..............but im not a fking sheep 2 u or this forum so fk up brother. .....now go chill
No need for that aber - I'm well chilled and content with my lot. That's not to say I haven't got opinions about other aspects of life, I just don't chose to discuss them on here. I know you can't post on the jack board to voice your opinions about things they post across there, but do us a favour pal and don't bring their crap into one of our chat threads like you did yesterday. I doubt there's many over here who give a **** about what Dai thinks of Blair and the Iraq thing, but if you want to discuss the subject, you can post a thread on it like they did, and those that want to comment can contribute. I'm not apolitcal at all, I've got my opinions as well, but l suspect that like many others, the subject should be kept separate from the football related stuff that most of us enjoy. If I'm wrong about that, I'm sure I'll get told. If you think those of us who chose to keep our own council on the politico agenda of others are just sheep, then so be it. Now if you want to talk about politics, feel free it's an open forum. Post a thread and I'm sure there'll be plenty of others who'll join in, I just wont be one of them - now you go chilll hey.
fk me you must have a copy and paste of that post sparkey..........live with the fact im here and what I do is my choice, thats until you have your power trip and cut me out so you get your perfect little nest of bluebird chicks all singing the same old fking boring song.
A bit of a harsh response. I would hardly call that slagging! In fact perhaps you have been unfair on somebody expressing their opinion that the whole thing has been done to death. I imagine one of the reasons Medel signed in the first place because of the release clause. Medel knew he was taking a risk coming to Cardiff and having a realistic and easy way to get out if it all went pear shaped was probably important to him.
Aber - I have no agenda on here regarding you or any other Cardiff poster, get that straight - not interested in any "power trip" either. We all have our own reasons for posting on a public forum, and you've often made your views very clear about a number of subjects. As this forum is supposed to be about football in general and Cardiff in particular, surprisingly enough, I prefer to talk about football on it. If someone wants to discuss another subject, then that's fine. Write your own article about whatever subject you wish - that applies to everyone not just you as you seem to think you're being victimised in some way. That way like minded people who want to chat about it can fill their boots and then football threads wont be deflected from their subject. No need for the "live with the fact that I'm here and what I do is my choice" bit either aber. You are an equal member of this forum along with everyone else and I wouldn't want it any other way. The fact that I happen to be a mod is irrelevant, though it does charge those the hold the position with certain responsibilities toward the smooth running of the forum - that's it in a nutshell.
You're probably right there Temple. Perhaps I did use the wrong word, but when someone is told to "change the record", it's usually used in a derogatory manner to put down another poster's opinion. On the Medel thing though, I can't see it prudent for the club to accept a clause in a players contract that lets him leave for a figure less than was paid for him. I'm not saying that's the case, but if we paid £11M for him, why should we then be forced to let him leave a year later for little more than half of that - that must be crazy.
im not if you've noticed sparks but a debate about true world subjects are limited due 2the fact only about five people post regular stuff on here...............adding 2the fact most are getting on here and care not a jot about the way our world is being used for a few power hungry families....... that leaves the footy talk ok football is a tiny part of the so called mind numbing entertainment and im sure its worth talking about now and then but come on brother we have blood on our hands in this country and it needs 2 be aired and im the man 2 put it out on this site>>>>>(this forum) is my vehicle for giving out info not found in the world of media most like 2 go with. have a good weekend lads whatever your belief is
Like I said aber - you post what you want on here - just put it on the right threads. Probably won't be around on here for a few weeks anyway - going to spend some time in my cottage on "The Moor" - and no it's not Princetown!! I'll be back when I feel like it, not when they let me out. Poor or no internet access, and 3G is just means 3 times gravity down there - we're still on morse code in parts. I'll try to get online with my phone somewhere to check in, but for a while, you'll just have to keep the board arguments going yourselves.......... ...seeya for now...
