How I explained it to people in the US who ask me where in England I come from. "You should never ask an Englishman where he is from. If he is from Yorkshire he will already have told you. If not, you have just embarrassed him by asking".
The so called "evidence" attibuted to the bones "belonging" to Richard III is almost laughable. It makes a nice story none the less. Yorkshire? I'd rather not be associated with most of the place to be honest. North and East are okay. South and West are shoddy.
He's not even a Yorkshireman- he's House of York, born in Northamptonshire & who had his support in the south of England & was originally the Duke of Gloucester.
