    You've let us down again.

Rooney only one worth mentioning tonight.

Gerrard, Henderson, Sterling, Johnson, Jageilka, Welbeck..... ALL USELESS!

Hope Gerrard never wears a England shirt again. We will be coming home soon...

Gerrard has never produced in my opinion, complete waste of space the lot of them.
    Rooney world class,no chance.
England are second class football wise.

Shiny - have to disagree about Rooney not being world class, I dont think there is a team at the finals who would not have him in there side! After all it takes 11 players to give 110% in every game and England dont have 11 players that do this game after game.

Having taken the youngsters for experience why didn't we just say this tournament is for experience only and play them in all 3 games. If we had lost all three so what (we are going to any way), at least the young ones would know what is expected at the next tournament. All they have gained is knowing that Management doesn't trust them over the likes of Gerrard, Johnson, etc.

Roy didn't utilise the young talented players we had, wasn't brave enough or bald enough..

Should of bought in Cole and Terry, but as if the FA would have any balls to bring terry back

We have had Lineker, Shearer then Owen who were all world class strikers who would turn a game. We no longer have that kind of goal machine. Our defence is terrible since Terry and Rio finished. The hype around our young players is a smokescreen. Gerrard needs to go now as he isn't worth his place anymore. I don't think it matters who the manager is - the players just aren't good enough.

Shouldn't have changed the way we played vs Italy attack is our best form of defence we sat back and turned into the England of old the defence were too busy ball watching and slow to react unlike its like they've never played together would've taken caulker and stones with me

If Caulker can leave Crapdiff and join a decent prem team like Everton/Southampton whilst Stones keeps up his performances I think there's our 2 CB'S

Because we thought we would win against Italy and just went for it. Having lost all the old insecurities come back. We are in a must win game. Pressure is on and all the usual character weaknesses come out. We tighten up, go defensive and forget how to pass or mark. It is the England bottling disease.

I said the other day that Hodgson got it wrong. It was much the same tonight. I am watching the Japan game right now. It is fluid, the game keeps moving. We were far too pedestrian. Uruguay were often first to the ball and hungrier. To be honest, I thought the result was about right.

It shows that far too many of our side, might be decent enough club players, but are lacking on the world stage.

Johnson didn't look interested. Gerrard has passed his sell by date.

We have no world class players. The only one that looks like he could be one day is Sterling.

I believe the commentator made mention that the team shape was set up to satisfy Rooney and if we base our structure around a single player then we have no chance of improving - of course unless that player is a Suarez clone and Wayne doesn't even come close and never will.

Hope Hodgson has the common sense to pay the rest of the squad he took with him because the lot in the first 2 games should have stayed at home.

Didn't see all of the game, but what I did see, thought I was back at the gate! some of the final balls and crosses were league 1 standard, these are highly paid, "professionals" no matter how young they are and on the night were just not good enough.
It's ****e being an England supporter at present, unless you like heroic failures, Football, Cricket and Rugby! whoops forgot the Hockey.
It must be great being Scottish or Welsh, at least you start off with no expectations whatsoever, so failure is expected.
How many of us last night were working out the permutations of the group in the hope we might still put a performance together in the final game and with Italy's help get through?
    I'm such a sad B******!

The premier league...........the best in the world the so called experts say.
Too many johny foreigners being paid too much money so the club HAS to play them.....at what expense? The expense of English players warming the bench or at best making the first team squad. Its all the FA's fault (and of course Lee Johnson!).
