He's probably pissed off like the rest of you so I'm fire fighting but I'm off in a bit. Stressed with all this work.
Re sharing plane I would imagine Madrid could be a hub for flights from Brazil to Europe but London is big enough to fly direct That would be one depressing airplane
The performance was far better against Italy. The only difference was Rooney being number 10 tonight. I've said it a million times but the fat **** has no first touch. Every play breaks down with him because of it. Usually he dives after losing the ball to get a free kick, but that just kills off our attack even more. Roy you twat the World Cup is now out of our hands. Rooney will probably refuse to play against Costa Rica anyway but if he still considers it good for his image rights then tell him to do one anyway. PLEASE let's have a serious game without Rooney and see what we are actually capable of. We need CBs too but not much we can do now.
Hart wasn't too bad. Not at fault for either goal. Johnson wasn't awful. Assist was more of a tackle after a heavy touch though Baines was average. Looked better at 1-1 when we had more pressure. Cahill was good but got caught out on the 2nd goal by starting to go to win the ball then deciding not to and ending up in no mans land. Jag was poor. Arguably at fault for both goals but 1st not being tight enough to Suarez and then not tracking your man. Schoolboy stuff says you mark your player as if no one or your own player gets a touch on that flick, he's onside and through - exactly what happened! Gerrard was very poor. He's not a DM and Brendan has fooled everyone into thinking he is. Not good defensively so needs 2 players around him to do that work. Pirlo does **** all defensive work (he just lets players walk past him) but he's allowed to because others are meant to do that job. Unfortunately England don't play that way. Either way, he was still poor. Henderson was average. Looked better when he was actually allowed to move forward with the ball but that partnership doesn't work for England because neither players' strengths are utilised. Sterling best player in that 10 role last week, moved out wide and didn't look anywhere near himself. Gave the ball away and went down easy on a couple of occasions. Rooney didn't make the most of his "best position" and the extra pressure created by the fact Sterling was moved out of that role to accommodate didn't help. Ironically scored his goal by coming in from the left wing Welbeck Didn't really notice him on the pitch or when he went off to be honest. Didn't do anything wrong, but certainly offered nothing going forward. Sturridge Poor game. Didn't hold the ball up well, 1 decent effort but then 1 from 40 yards and one scuffed to the keeper. Best moment was the skill to set Johnson away.
Former England international Chris Waddle BBC Radio 5 live Uruguay 2-1 England Posted at "I enjoyed watching Liverpool in the Premier League, you get away with playing like that there but not in international football. The opposition will have energy, be solid and hit them on the break. When you play the Premier League it is like playing basketball, you get millions of chances. At this level it doesn't work like that." Can someone translate? I'm pretty sure if Liverpool were at the World Cup we would get to the semis at least
^this - spot on!!! Also Roy gave the best team talk - he just did it for Uruguay - just like Benitez did for drogba a few years back - wonder if Roy thinks he is world class yet?
I don't understand why England fans are so angry. 2 goals so far means they have massively overachieved in this tournament.
