Can England's defending be any more abysmal?

Davies should have been there. He was rock solid all year unlike what I have seen these last 2 games.

I don't recall Suarez scoring at all when up against Bruce at the KC. He kept him pretty quiet.

You mean the bloke you had Suarez in his back pocket?

With Bruce and Davies playing England would not have conceded that 2nd goal. Jagielka is totally out of his depth at international level

The frustrating thing is that this defensive performance was so predictable. How long have people been saying that the selections at the back were questionable at best? And although this is probably stating the bleeding obvious, the lack of quality at the back is clearly affecting our ability to get the best out of the central midfield. A great pity given that this appears to me to be one of the best forward lines England has assembled for a good while.
I wish Davies and Thudd were playing!

Did he, or did he not, have Suarez in his back pocket?

    I don't know, I haven't looked at those stats.

    Now answer my question.

Bruce had two good games all season - Liverpool and the final - other than that he was **** - which on tonights performance makes him well qualified to play for England I suppose

To be honest, the fact you thought anyone on this thread was being serious about Alex Bruce is concerning.

I didn't - the only time that Bruce will ever play for England is if his dad becomes manager

Yes, it can; but it really shouldn't, not at this level. No decent defence, appalling Centre midfield of StevieG and Henderson; but if anyone can tell me what the game plan was between Welbeck, Rooney, Sterling (WTF) and Sturridge, I'm all ears. That was the worse prepared football team I've seen for some time.
