That has to be the worst England performances by a England side that i can remember.

Feel sorry for our fans out there, what a complete waste of money.

I tell you something until we get British players playing together in the premier league they will struggle,The foreign invasion has crippled the standard of football by British players.

I thought a young side showed a bit of spirit and did all right against a team ranked above us.

This World Cup was always about getting experience.

I feel better / more hopeful than I did 4 years ago

Totally agree. Yet all the FA wants to do to improve the England team, is to put B teams in the conference.

PS. Not a reason why we lost but the Spanish referee was poor. How Godin stayed on is a mystery.

There were young players in the side / squad for this WC

The U17's won the Euro title 3 years ago and again this year

I know it hurts tonight, but there is reason to be optimistic

Sorry I don't see any light at the end of the tunnel.
We ALL know that one of the big clubs will sign the youngsters up and then ditch them in 4/5 years time in favour of some foreigner!
Any parent with a promising youngster should be advising them to stay at a 'smaller' club (NOT Bristol City as we all know our promising youngster never see the light of day) where they will be given game time. This 'cr@p' about getting better training at one of the big clubs is complete hogs wash. There is and never has been a better way to develope than to be playing regular first team football.

    Joke ROD,
Hodgeson needs to go, Gerrard should retire,Manager should be and let the names come fourth but that was 2nd rate performances.

I said we would loose all three games, i still reckon that will be the case.

Quite agree. Think we will be lucky to get even a point v Costa Rica. In a way, it might be better if they draw with Italy, sending us out and making the last game meaningless

The whole England set up is flawed from top to bottom and has been for decades which is why we struggle to beat average teams like Italy and Uruguay

Not helped by the FA being obsessed with celebrity over doing the right thing and bringing the kids through.

Uruguay has a population of 3.5 million - a THIRD of the size of London.

Our players are massively over paid, over hyped useless tw*ts.
We should disband, forget about competing/winning anything.

We'd also never have to pander to the likes of Blatter and Platini ever again.

And to think I sat alongside my Dad in 66 with tears of utter joy.

Tears of joy were my emotions whilst at Wembley on that wonderful day in 1966 and now they have turned to tears of despair at my birth country constantly embarrassing themselves. National pride of any kind seems to have disappeared forever.

Uruguay are Copa America champions, reached the last world cup semi finals and are ranked in the top ten in the world. Bloody good for average,
