#hcafc announce plans to set up a supporters' group ahead of the new season, designed to "canvass opinion on key issues".

Any #hcafc supporter over the age of 16 is able to apply to be a part of the new group. Need to email marketing man James Mooney.

    Excellent news.

Will CTWD be claiming credit for this?

Actually thinking about it, I assume CTWD will boycott it, and claim it's just something controlled by the Evil Dr Allam, especially as they weren't given advance notice of it, and haven't all been invited personally to create the initial quorum for it.

Before replying, please note I am fully aware of the following, and will treat accordingly:

    1. It's ok to attempt to bully anyone with a mind of their own and who isn't in or supports CTWD
    2. It's ok to take the piss/disparage/be outraged by anything the club attempts, even if it's been begged for previously
    3. Don't take the piss out of CTWD, or its sheep, or anyone who is "Anti Allam"

Seems like a very decent idea, surely it would have to represent all of the fans' views though

Why does Happy need to bring CTWD into everything involving the club?

It hasn't been mention in OP or in the thread.

Seems like Happy has some kind of weird vendetta against CTWD.

It sounds like a great idea. The club and fans need to get back the connection that has been lost in the last 18 months.

I wonder how many of the fans they choose will have voted No to Hull Tigers?

My suspicion is that only pliable fans would be chosen as opposed to a more representative group with differing opinions and backgrounds.

It'll be "yes man" central. Only brown nosers need apply.

Might as well pluck all members from the OSC.

Hull City are to set up a supporters’ working group ahead of the 2014/15 football season in a bid to canvass the opinion of fans on key issues surrounding the Club.

Individuals from the working group will meet with representatives from the Club at regular intervals with members invited to bring forward any issues that may be of concern including ticketing arrangements, the matchday experience at the KC Stadium, merchandise and communications.

Any supporter over the age of 16 is able to apply to be a part of the group, which will see the Club and its fans working closely together to make improvements for the benefit of all.

James Mooney, Marketing Manager at the Club, said: “We speak to a lot of supporters about the ideas that they have for improving certain aspects at the football club and feel that the time is right to formalise the process in which these can be brought forward.

“It is felt that a working group, which will be fluid and transparent, is the best way in which to do this.

“We appreciate that this isn’t an entirely new idea, but feel that it will be an evolution of the former Fans Liaison Committee which was disbanded a number of years ago under a previous regime. However, this new incarnation will invite supporters to put their views to us in a more direct manner than ever before.

“The views and concerns of our fans are of great importance to us, especially when the majority of work we do goes towards making their experience a better one.”

Any supporters interested in taking part are asked to email the Club’s Marketing Manager, James Mooney, with their contact details and ideas about how the Club can improve the supporter experience. James can be contacted at [email protected]

CTWD welcome any fan involvement at the club and the setting up a group like this was one of the initial aims of the proposed supporters trust, so we're very happy with this announcement.

It's not a surprise, James had actually told me this was happening in a recent phone conversation, but asked me not to mention it until after the official announcement.

The fact that we were made aware of this ahead of it's official announcement, suggests we will not be excluded from participating in it and we will happily do so.

I will criticise the club for anything I feel they are doing wrong, but equally I will compliment them on anything I think they are doing right and this looks like a step in the right direction.

Like it or not, CTWD are still around, and "active". OLM is the official Not606 representative on CTWD (actually, he has a different role, and he only ever represented the views of the noisy on here but for all intents and purposes, he is the "voice of Not606"). They see themselves as the "representatives of the fans" and "voice of the people", so referring to them in this context is very relevant.

Just because I got in there first is irrelevant. Witness the very predictable posts against this excellent idea, just need Aggron to make some sperm swallowing comment and its complete.

I don't have a vendetta against anyone, least of all CTWD, I just think of them in the same way as they think of our owner.

I also agree with you, this is an excellent idea from the club and I also hope it can build some bridges and open some lines of communication up.

We should accept the olive branch.

We should also insist CTWD are properly represented on the new forum or it will hold no credibility.

It would also have been a good idea to have had this consultation before the ethnic cleansing of E1-E3.

    Hardly surprising news.

Afterall, when Allam submits the next name change application, it would be very useful for him to have evidence of consultation with a "supporters group".

He's a sinister and vindictive man and not to be trusted.

See? That's the point, they don't need to be, and in fact, shouldn't be. People can join the thing on their own grounds. It doesn't need a "CTWD Rep" it needs people with views like CTWD to join it. Or even members/officers from CTWD. Either works, but not 1 or 2 people representing CTWD.

It's supposed to be the fans representing their own views to the club. If you were on there, just as an interested Hull City fan, would you be happy to have other people, representing "groups" pretty much steamroller over you, or to just try to make every meeting about their agenda? I sure as hell wouldn't, and I suspect the meetings would quickly end up serving no purpose.

I'd expect people like OLM and others from CTWD to join, as much as I'd expect people from the Fanatics, Ulltras, CI, AN etc etc want to join. But, I'd also like to see "the man in the street" type fans too.

Those issues that some see as burning can still be raised but not by people pretending to represent heaving multitudes with axes to grind and agendas to push. The key words are a forum to aid consultation. Not a pit for pointing, accusing and arguing.
