Nice to start at home again. Shame to have our first 2 away games against teams that are going to be up the top of the table a doesn't let us build any momentum but on the other hand, means everyone will still be in early season form and none will have hit top stride yet.

Not ideal, but I guess nie to get 2 away games out the way early on. Means in the business end of the season we'll have them at home which could be important <ok>

  2. Only part of the fixture list that matters is around the festive period. Don't want the bigger clubs who can cope better with the fixture congestion.

    United A - 13th
    Arsenal H - 20th
    Burnley A - 26th
    Swansea H - 28th
    Leicester H - 1st

Not too bad to be fair. 3 home games is quite nice as well, although may have an effect on attendance. Tricky start with United & Arsenal though.

Feb probably looks the trickiest month of all.

    7 - Everton (A)
    10 - Tottenham Hotspur (H)
14 - FA Cup fifth round
    21 - Southampton (A)
    28 - Manchester City (H)

I just hope we win the first one. :D

Seriously though if we grab a win against Southampton then the game at City will be brilliant, early doors attacking footy from both I'd rather this fixture early on other than when it might make a big difference near the end of the season.

José Mourinho has fired the first shot. Complaining that he has to play the top teams before or after champion league games.<wah>

  6. Yeah, the ones in bold are the ones I meant. Playing one of the bigger sides in the first of those three isn't too bad but they are able to play a second team in the others whereas we'd have to stick with the majority of the first eleven still. We have a bigger and better squad then all three of Burnley, Swansea and Leicester so we should be able to cope with the demands better this season.

Assuming we strengthen our squad. With CL football we probably don't have the same advantage. I guess the CL goes on a break over Xmas though so maybe won't be as much of an issue. At the moment our squad depth isn't good enough so we'd have to play the same 13 or 14 players in each of those games anyway!

I would rather have the bigger teams around the CL games - keeps the heads in focus barca - utd - psg or barca- hull - psg as an example
I guarantee hull - being a decent a side will take points of us. We know focus should stay sharp for a good side like Hull but not sure our lads know
