TBH, I think Meireles is as good as gone anyway and while he had a decent season last year we're replacing him with someone who is younger for less money who has the potential to be as good as him. I'd much rather a happy Adam then an unhappy Meireles
Granted, but I'm unsure, even if Meireles is unhappy (which I'm 90% sure isn't the case), then there'd be better options to spend £12m on. Javi Martinez for one.
I don't think we would get Javi Martinez for £12mil, we would prob have to pay around £25mil for him. Im not sure about Meireles he look's good sometime's then in other game's he look's pretty average and I don't think he is able to cope with the physical aspect of the prem, he's a bit of a blouse.
No-one would pay £25m for him. Granted, £12m is a tad low, but he'd definitely be a similar figure to what Adam is coming for. Other examples can include Artur Vidal, Moussa Sissoko (also a tad expensive), that Dortmund Asian midfielder...
His buy out clause is £30mil at the moment. It rises to £36mil in July so anything less than £25mil would be laughed at by Bilbao.
Buy out clauses tend to be a bit ridiculous in Spain, tbh. I wouldn't pay attention to them, if I were you.
They are there to warn people off, you can usually get the player for about £10mil less than his buy out clause if it over £30mil, they are not that ridiculous we had to meet Torres's, Alonso's, and Reina's to get them.
