Yeah, I'm burning the after midnight oil again, so I'll do today's 3 matches. Colombia v Ivory Coast Time: 1700 BST Venue: Estadio Nacional, Brasilia Group C http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/25285169
Really looking forward to this one. Would like one African team to progress, but I have always had a soft spot for Colombia, because of Carlos Valderama's barnet back in the day.
Ah now that just shows your era. I am definitely slightly anti-Colombia, as a footballing nation because one day, during the 1970 World Cup tournament, Bobby Moore, the then captain of England was set up, by being accused of theft in a jeweller's shop in Bogota, the capital city of Colombia. The charges were so contrived it was laughable, but it unsettled Bobby and the whole England team. They chose the wrong bloke to tarnish, but of course they probably thought that anyone was worth a pop at. Not so Moore. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bogotá_Bracelet
Colombia 01 Ospina 18 Zuñiga 07 Armero 06 Sánchez 02 Zapata 03 Yepes 11 Cuadrado 08 Aguilar 09 Gutiérrez 10 RodrÃguez 14 Ibarbo Ivory Coast 01 Barry 17 Aurier 03 Boka 20 Gonzaroua Die 05 Zokora 22 Bamba 15 Gradel 09 Tioté 12 Bony 19 Y Touré 10 Gervinho
Will be interesting to see if Gradel is as petulant as ever. Was funny watching his histrionics when he played against us for Leeds in our first game back in the Champ a few years ago.
9 goals for Monaco this season. He's their playmaker more than anything. Bacca has been lethal in 2014.
Just seems that now they don't have Falcao, he's their go-to guy! I would have started Jackson Martinez myself, I like the cut of his jib!
It appears Bacca is injured anyway: http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/12040/9351912/world-cup-colombias-carlos-bacca-set-to-miss-the-rest-of-the-group-stage-with-leg-injury
I hope my friend who now lives out in Colombia is able to watch this. Although I doubt he's traveled the hours it takes for him to get into civilisation (that looks weird, Civilization looks better but maybe I'm basing that on the game!) to watch it. Unless the shaman, who also masquerades as the doctor, has conjured up a TV Anyway, it's in his honour that i'm supporting Colombia, so come on Los Cafeteros!!
