Are you seriously saying you didn't understand my original post, here's a little test to see if you can guess the brands. It might be complicated as there isn't the name added (just a logo and the brand colours), anyone is free to guess.....

the point I'm trying to make is that the brand colours and logo should be enough to get the point across without having to use text, especially as it was targeted at such a small audience.

Why after 110 years would we not want to publicise our name ????

Why not hammer home our name to potential new passholders?

    It's destroying our brand.

    Any idea?

I'm trying to not be apathetic about the Allams, the past month or so the old boys various antics have been drawing me to the anti camp but it's each to their own I guess? Whatever he does it'll always be Hull City AFC in my tiny little mind, in 5 weeks me and the missus will be welcoming our first baby into this world (all being well), it's a boy and he WILL be a City fan, he'll support Hull City AFC (though I'll let him watch Wycombe if he wants, support yer local team). However there is bigger sh*t kicking off in this world he's being born into which puts the name of my, our, footy club in some context.

On the other hand if the Allam's chuck a speedway/dog track in at the KC they'll win me back!

I'm not too sure on the dates but I think it was in the 80's the club started to use the full name, before that it was just a logo or initials. So the club managed 80 years without the name on the badge and everyone still knows who we are.

The club has been Hull City AFC since 1904.

Generations of City fans - and other clubs' fans -know us as Hull City.

It ain't broke- no need to fix it.

A valid point and I'm still not taking sides....but it was broke, it was ****ed to be precise, and when the old bugger rocked up with his cheque book we were all grinning from ear to ear.

Hope this isn't heading towards a fight....

To us it's about the name, the name means a million things to all of us for a million different reasons - to him it's the name of something he purchased when it was broke/****ed - that's what I mean 'the club' was broken.

He's a mentalist and liberties such as democracy and the finer points of what it means to support City don't register in his head.

    So it wasn't broke then.

The only things that are broke are one man's brittle ego and his relationship with his landlord.

It's our argument(s) v his argument and brittle ego, he however owns what we're arguing about.

In his mind he bailed the club out, he believes he saved it, to a man of his sensibilities he believes that gives him the right to do whatever he wants.

    Is he right - no.

Am I defending him - no.

Am I daring to question your "It ain't broke- no need to fix it" statement - yes, because that's probably the very justification he's using to do what he's doing.

This isn't a debate about the name change, it's a thread about the badge. There's been enough on the name change, THE NAME ISN'T CHANGING, as per the FA decision

So we've got millions of pounds coming in and a new wealthy sponsor then?

How are we measuring the success of his Hull City Tigers experiment so far?

The massive hole in that argument is that each of those companies has a strong brand name and corporate identity. They couldn't rely on a logo if their actual name was clouded in confusion, with several versions being used in the same articles.
Car manufacturers are all about brand recognition, and they keep historic names in Countries where they can, such as Opel/Vauxhall/GM, because they recognise something of what we're saying and the Allam's are missing.

The opposite exists i some areas, where one logo is used for what are effectively several different companies, B&Q being one example.

Try filling a bucket with ice and cold water.

Chuck it in your face. If that does not wake you up carry on being deluded!

it sure it , but the tigers noggin is the city logo .
Obvious to most of us , playing with words is a ****ty thing to do - he wouldnt be lying by changing/removing the text .

but it is a classic way to start the whole "piss of the meat n veg of the club " all over again and it isnt clever !
