Ah, that's a long story. You'll have to reply please tell me, to convince me to write it. It's not hugely interesting. :)

So if you'd been waiting for that you'd be about a couple of days behind the rest of the country with the news. :)

Nice find, Chilco. Reading down through that match report revealed many familiar names from recent past and present.

So, do we know how many penalties Rickie has taken and scored now..? I'm trying to see some sort of comparable record to Matty's 47/48. Rickie must have a taken quite a few penalties before he came to Saints. Very early in his Saints career a commentator [JPT Final] said after he scored, you don't keep out a Rickie Lambert penalty, so he must have had plenty of form even before he came to Saints to back up his reputation with us.

Apparently he also missed one for Rochdale but I can't find a report of it. That puts him behind Matty then, I suppose. Oh well, I never thought much of him anyway... <whistle>

If we got off to a good start then this fixture list will help us, however if Koeman and our players struggle to adapt and we lose our early games we could have a long season ahead.

Got some info from Captain Jack at Bristol Rovers:
So add the Rochdale miss [your find, Chilco] then he's 47/49. Blimey, that was close, but a magnificent achievement all the same. I suppose he didn't take a penalty for Macclesfield and the rest, but I suppose I should ask. Anyway, that's the data so far.

Looks like someone was hoodwinked by the false links that were doing the rounds, as we now know we start away to Scouse and finish with a Premiership decider against Citeh.

he has only missed 2 in his entire career according to this http://www1.skysports.com/FIFA-Worl...bert-would-not-shirk-penalty-shoot-out-duties

if his last pen for rochdale was missed then you can say 47/49. but i doubt his last pen for them was missed. example lets say he scored 5 pens after that miss for rochdale then his stats would be 53/54 since he missed for rochdale or 53/55 if you count the missed pen for rochdale. obviously that just an example but i highly doubt he missed his last pen for them meaning his stats could be better than le tiss <ok>

i will try and dig a bit more for you <ok>

found this, http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/southamptons-rickie-lambert-didnt-england-2184020 which reconfirms he has missed just 2 in his entire career and confirms rochdale is the other miss <ok>

Must have been a dream for Ricky to score in front of the kop. Let's keep him dreaming a little bit longer.
