The young players is to do with Europe but is more indirect. A club our size with the quality we have will struggle if he have to use the players named in our 25 man squad. Bringing in younger allows us to use a larger squad in the PL i believe because players under 24 don't need to be named I believe. So while not being brought in for Europe they will help.

The fact this minor problem has become an issue just shows how far Hull City have come in 2 seasons.

Whatever happened to that Snodgrass deal that was said to be the furthest along?

That was only reported a couple of days ago. What's the rush? Most of the squad are still away on holiday, so it's not like anybody is missing out on training.

The rush is I am a fan. If it didnt happen two days before I knew about it than it is taking to long.

Yeah but we know deals are being forged as we speak. When they're sorted we'll hear about it, why worry?

On another note, Sam Ricketts has told Harry Maguire that he'd be better off playing for Wolves rather than us.

Ricketts was a good player for us and as he's now a Wolves player, it's hardly surprising that he's trying to get other decent players to go to Wolves.

For Maguires career he's probably right. He'll get more games there at a competitive level.

Who would take Sam Ricketts advice anyway ? I suspect that Nigel Clough will have his ear more than Ricketts.

I think that Steve Bruce will have a very good look at him and give him the europa league and coc games to start with.
Maguire can always go out on loan at some point.

In general it seems a good idea, as long as the representatives cover the whole spectrum of options.

We MUST go for Maguire, don't think it would be very long before he commanded a first team place in the Prem. Player of the year 3 years on the trot (even when the Mighty Quinn was there) and he’s only 21. Definitely rated their best player, come on Brucie get him signed up.

Are there any targets other than Maguire that we're being linked with that we're heavily interested with? None of this 'scouting' business, but where we actually look legitimately interested?

Would be happy with him but had wished we had a few more in the pipeline. I suppose its all gone back to doom and gloom now lescotts off to WBA.

    In Bruce we trust.

There'll be players identified that aren't in the public domain, that I don't doubt. Bruce has a pretty decent track record of attracting players that we wouldn't expect to see in a City shirt. Tom Huddlestone for one! I don't see what's to be glum about missing out on Lescott.

I Think Bruce was quoted as saying he had given AA a list of about 12 players!

Its a shame about Lescott for sure. He would have been an amazing signing for us and would have certainly strengthened our defence... but if he wants to go to west brom to be close to his family and to work with his old coach again, fair play to him.

Im still certain Bruce will land one or two "blow your socks off" signings this window, he always does.
