2 handy local games over the christmas period and away to Swans on New Years Day...... All we have to do is be the 4th worst team in our mini league of 14 teams......
Wish we had a big team first game. Catch them cold before they settle down. This'll be the third season in a row we've had an opening home fixture that looks very winnable. And we all know what happened the last two times. Still, it could have been Huddersfield away!
Last time we were happy with starting at home to Swansea! Hope for better this time around. Quite a tough run in so hopefully we will be established in a safe position by then.
Mmmmmm 20th Sept could be a nice day for a full blown meet up, that's around the same time as we had the meet up last season for Brix's memorial.....
Need to have our squad sorted early on so we can kick off with a win and build our confidence and team spirit. Would like to see Steve Black in with the squad to get heads right and team focus on getting a good start. Would be money well spent in my view. With a few good additions in the key areas, and team spirit through the management and team we should be capable of staying up in my view.
Drat, away for 1st home game. Have to wait until the 30th August. Oh well, a win will help me bear it.
Should be a very winnable opening day fixture - but then we all said that about Bolton & Swansea. Let's hope we relegate Leicester on the final day!
It is painful how, with far less games than the Championship, the season still starts in the middle of the school summer holidays and then the extends almost to the end of May. This is mostly to fit in the plethora of European games for the big boys of course but just provides gaps in the calendar for the likes of us. Hey ho - comes with the territory I suppose.

Think ours is tough, what about WBA's run in..... Liverpool (home), Man Utd (away), Newcastle (away), Chelsea (home), Arsenal (away).
That's even worse because they have Alan Irvine who will lose the winnable games and then leave the new manager an impossible job when he comes in with ten to go in the relegation zone.
