Just seen this on the BBC:

1 year ban for Leeds fans' pitch invasion

I can't decide if the club are right to enforce the one year ban.

OK; she's hardly the type to be a trouble maker and perhaps in the heat of the moment she simply did something out of the ordinary but the club also pointed out that 30,000 others followed the rules.

    What do you think?

Three months is fair. I'm not sure what a 12 month ban would achieve. She's a 63 year old great grandmother, she's obviously never going to do it again, and everyone else will be well aware that she has only been given special treatment because she's an old woman, so it won't really give anyone the impression that Leeds United will let people get away with it.

Just give her the three month ban and then let her get back so she can enjoy games. Life is too short.

Well rules are rules as far as I'm concerned. If it was a 20 year old lad with a Leeds tattoo on his face, people would be all for the ban.

  5. Well i think 8 years old or 80 years old, every fan should be punished the same, however it was just a display of passion and she wasn't trying to cause trouble. She should be given a warning and any more offenses will result in a ban.

    It's harsh, IMO.

its a strange one... if it was a 17yr old chavvy kid then nobody would say anything... the fact it was an old woman is rather amusing to me so i dont think punishment is appropriate.

Sharing in the lack of sympathy so far, I think at 63 she should have known better .. let that be a good life lesson to her grandkids ..

<laugh> Glad this hooligan won't be making an appearance when we make a trip down there.

In all seriousness, yes it's harsh, but she should've known better and I'm sure everyone's been caught up in the atmosphere at some point, but not everyone invades a pitch because of it.

A whole year does seem a bit harsh. But rules are there for a reason and if they make an exception in one case where does it end? They're right to stick by their policy.

She isn't really as tall as the stadium, mind. She's just really close to the camera.
