Yet you think he's England's only 'world class player'.

If our only world class player (your words) shouldn't get the most stick for an average (at best) performance - who should??

    Can't you see the irony?

Miles out of position? He wasn't in goal you shin pad!!

He was played in a position he has played many times for his club. He played more centrally later on in the game as well when Sterling was on the right and was still ineffective. He's played in his so called best position for England many times at tournaments and also been ineffective. Seriously you are running out of excuses for the lad. If he was that good, he'd be unmoveable. I don't see Robben or Messi being played 'out of position' to accommodate other players.

He's not the only one but if people want to pass him off as our best player / world class then he needs to show it more than the average players like Jagielka or Henderson.

Drop Rooney for the last 2 games, England will fail to qualify, so who can we blame then?

The way the media and press have treated Wayne Rooney has been an absolute disgrace and shameful. They've had it in for Wayne Rooney ever since the season finished and instead of getting behind and supporting the one man and the only reason as to why England have any chance no matter how small of going all the way to the maracana on July 13th and winning the world cup all the media and press have done is subjected Wayne to inexcusable abuse and mockery. But its ok because it wouldent suprise me in the least if Wayne actually makes this tournament his very own. I just hope he tells the press and media like Diego Maradona did in no uncertain terms to jog on. Those idiots have always had it in for Wayne Rooney.

Lampard on Rooney: "We seem to have a fixation with 1 player at every World Cup. It feels like an agenda rather than a debate."

Can`t argue with that. The press look for someone to blame the day the squad is announced and the sheeple climb on board so they can vent their anger when unrealistic dreams are shattered.
