I thought Germany played well and beat Portugal quite comprehensively. As others have said, it's great to see so many goals and it's brilliant that we don't have any vuvuzelas.

See Yobo has just come on as a sub!! <ok>

I wasn't overly impressed by Brazil's display this evening, but I thought the Mexican keeper Ochoa had an excellent game.

Hmmmm - I remember we suffered the same fate on a few occasions last season!!!!

warky, i know you have pretty low standards these days, but seriously, dos santos was non existent last night. they may as well have played with ten men. last night highlighted why he could never get a game at premier league level

Hardly any need to bring race into it Dave!

I think we can safely say Brazil have been a huge disappointment so far.

As for England, I see Thursday as a must not lose match, Italy will beat Costa Rica, so that means we must go and beat Costa Rica more than Uruguay can beat Italy. We will be in the driving seat.

    he certainly did.

he helped relegate a team who were already heading to league one with barely a whimper.

i'm afraid that does not make him a 'great player'. deon burton tore us to shreds in far more spectacular fashion than dos santos did. was he 'great'?

i suppose it shows how desperate your lot have been over the past decade or so that a player who played, what, six games, is still worshipped.

back to the world cup, brazil have certainly been a disappointment although to be honest, did anyone really expect them to perform really well? they don't have a great side anymore and up front, bar neymar - who can make something happen on his own, have absolutely nothing.

i'd even go as far to say i think england look a better side. having said that, i still feel they have a very good chance of winning it because its such a wide open tournament. the dutch and the germans have been the two most outstanding teams so far but my gut tells me the winner won't be either.

agree with this, I don't even rate Neymar on the scale of messi for instance, when he runs its always head down and hope to bounce through. Im not saying he is crap, because he isn't by a long way, its just he doesn't bring others into the game like a truly great player.

well i don't rate anyone on the same level with messi, not even ronaldo (quite) but neymar is a talent and is one of the players just behind. i can't understand why people don't rate him. he's got everything.

Yes, I'll be watching that game with interest, as I think Holland have been excellent so far and playing as a team.

I just think its just get the ball and run straight at people, perhaps its because this brazil side isn't great and he feels he needs to do it, its never a simple pass ball and make a run off the ball. I think he needs to trust teammates and that will make him even better.
