...and the replacement, Witsel, promptly looks shocked and falls down when a ball arrives on his head three feet in front of an open goal. Are we sure Chadli didn't just put on an Afro wig?

Yeah, but maybe Lukaku being subbed will make him buyable.

I think Wilmots got a lot wrong at the start, but corrected bits of it during the game and managed to sneak the result, in the end.
Having two centre-halves at fullback and two holding midfielders was far too negative and it put too much pressure on De Bruyne and Lukaku, who didn't look fit.
Fiddling with the system at half-time and then adding two more attack-minded subs later on turned the game.

He really is Belgium's answer to Dim Sherwood. He even mastered the art of winning games by accident despite being hapless for the duration.

Paulinho v Dos Santos in the next game. The Brazilian (the non-Mexican one) posted a picture of his family earlier:

Hulk drops to the bench and Ramires comes in. Shape change, I'd assume.

I have now seen that about 10 times and that is pathetic defending from someone who some of our fans consider to be "world class".

Much has been said about the supposed dubious signings a year ago to replace Bale. Fair enough, but my concerns are more over the summer signings of 2012 when we signed the likes of this prima Donna Vertonghen and his misfit mate Dembele, who both continue to flatter to deceive.

Was I hearing things or did Gary Neville say (during his interview at half-time) the England performance against Italy was the best in the last 15 years? I hope I was hearing things!

Yep. Much talk about Vertonghen wanting to leave cos of his slack performances. Well it's not just for Spurs apparently. Maybe he wants to change nationality too?

Not much competition if he's referring only to WC Finals games. Only three tournaments in that time. It says something that a) that statement is worth considering and b) the only exception that springs to mind is a 1-0 against Argentina with a penalty winning it.

Frightening really that we consider a 2-1 defeat against italy our best performance in 15 years. Imagine if we'd beat spain 5-1. Just shows the difference between england and the top international teams

This match is so one sided with Brazil attacking with conviction and Mexico dithering.

Mexico keeper looks abit unconventional but has made some superb saves tonight, love the last one where he is nodding to himself as if hes the man!
